Forums - Gaming - "We, The Spoiled Gamers" or why Jim Sterling is my hero today

"If you ask the right person,  2010 sucked for gamers. Ask someone else, and 2009 was dreadful. There are those who might even go so far as to claim that the past two decades have been awful, that things were better back in the 8-bit days, before endless sequels and first-person-shooters took over the market. And as I sit here, fresh off feeling disappointed that the 3DS has up to five hours of battery life with which to display amazing looking, three-dimensional interactive entertainment without the need for special glasses, I have to ask myself a question … why the hell do we always find something to bitch about?"

He's calling me, himself and ALL OF US out and I THANK him for it.

We are indeed. Still doesn't mean we shouldn't be vocal.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

He is absolutely right.

I have always liked Jim Sterling.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Well given that I have been happy all year around recently, happy with the 3DS personally. PSP needs more games (at least released....GIVE ME AGITO), but besides that all is good.

Indeed, and all that bitching with small details supposedly ruining things we don't even know yet is just sad. Often we know very little about the stuff we complain about, and I think it's a damn shame that people don't appreciate what they have more than they do some times.

I just find it funny truth be told. Given I shouldn't talk, since i am spoiled at times.

whoever said 2010 sucked didn't play Amnesia The Dark Descent.

If anything, I'll disagree with him that gaming is the worse (though those are the communities I spend the most time).  Just go read a typical comment thread on an Engadget news story, imdb forum for a movie or tv show, listen to sports or political radio talk shows or an Adam Corolla podcast and you'll see its all over the place.

Its a miserable, nonconstructive world view that I personally feel is very destructive.  Honestly, even if the odds are 1:5,000,000, is it worth it to stir up just one of those mentally unstable people out there into action?  Criticism is only good if it is constructive, complaining if it is genuine need.
