ya you can say tony hawk and guitar hero failed but this franchise is just getting way out of hand. Guitar Hero never dominated the top 10 of any of the systems and was only really really popular for 2 illiterations. Call of Duty completly dominates the top 10 of both the 360 and ps3. In the past 4 years call of duty has been growing more and more popular. I think the franchise will be selling 10mil total sales for a very long time but maybe it will die down a bit from the crazy sales it has now.

Yearly games fall even if it's Hardcore or mighty COD , Suddenly Activision is one of the biggest names out there competing in terms of sales with EA . COD will not sell like Modern warfare 2 ever again black ops isn't going to do it , and the franchise will fade by time .

Still I think it will manage to stay as a Million seller but it will not keep on as the FPS sensation for long.

Didn't Black ops already outsell  MW2 ?

Yeah,BO is tracking above MW2,and MW3 will probably sell even better than BO next year.

It'll work until something better comes along. Really the only games similar to Call of Duty are Medal of Honor and Battlefield and those both suck. Games like Resistance, Halo and Killzone are great but they are so different to CoD that they don't really directly compete. If something similar but better than CoD comes along like Respawn Entertainment's new game or Bungie's new game it will kill Call of Duty. 

I would like to see a Call of Duty: Future Warfare... I think it would complete destroy KZ and Resistance in sales and take a large chunk out of Halo

Cod wont last that much longer. BF3 will hopefully make an big splash and really challenge Call of Duty 8. If Dice can pull this off well. 

 

 


Somebody said the same about halo reach/BFBC2/MOH to be the best of 2010 but Black Ops owned them hands down.

This has been happening  for 2 years and will contnue till the world ends,CoD will contnue to break its own records.

do you know wat kz,Resistance,MOH,BF lack when compared to a CoD...its controls awesome Single player campaign story.

 

Only FPS that can compete a CoD is Half life or maybe Bioshock if not the next CoD.

nah Call of Duty is here to stay. It has something GH and Tony Hawk didn't, close 10 million sales a pop. Call of Duty is just to big. Even if its sales split in half, it is still a HUGE success. Activision got lucky they found this pot of gold.
