Yes I really are. In fact,my Wii games have more replay value than any other console I owned. There are some game which will stay classics like Super Mario Bros. or Ocarina of Time will. I played my Wii more often than any other console, including PS3, because if you are not into shooters, PS3 and Xbox are not really good console for you. I'm a platformer man, a true one, and I enjoy so much my games!

Was the bolded ironic? Because it sounds like a very trite meme from, say, 2006. Before the respective lineups were properly fleshed.

I woulnt say that if you´re not into shooters they are not good options (they have all sorts of games of course), but I would say that if you are into platformers the wii is definitely the best option for anyone

And yes I am a platformer man :)

Yeah, I'd say platformers is the one genre where Wii unquestionably dominates PS3/360.  Of course I'd say the same for FPS going in the other direction... for most other genres it's more subjective based on taste.

If you want platformers go and look up some PSN/XBLA games.

Many of them are on par with Wii platformers (aside from the Mario games):

Limbo, Braid, Shadow Complex, Splosion Man, The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, N plus, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Trine

to name only a few.

Shadow Complex is a pure adventure game, like Metroid or Cave Story.  Braid is more puzzle game too really (and horribly, horribly overrated... total style as substance thing going on there).

I'd agree that BC ReArmed, N and Splosion Man are pretty great though.  Limbo was nice, but criminally short.  There's also great stuff like Mega Man 9-10 and Super Meat Boy, though those are also on Wii (or will be).

Still, I just don't think you can beat Wii, even without Mario.  There's games like Klonoa, Lost in Shadow, Lost Winds 1-2, Sonic Colors, Wario Land: Shake It, Kirby's Epic Yarn, deBlob, Castlevania ReBirth, Contra reBirth, bit.trip Runner, And Yet it Moves, Dewey's Adventure, NyxQuest, NPC Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Ivy the Kiwi, Metal Slug Collection... lots of great stuff, both retail AND downloadable.  Plus if you add the Virtual Console, it's just gets laughably lopsided in Wii's favor (Bonk 1-3, Sonic 1-3k, Ristar, Dynamite Headdy, Earthworm Jim 1-2, Magician Lord, Donkey Kong Country 1-3, Kirby's Adventure/SS/DL3/64, MegaMan 1-4, Castlevania 1/3/4/Rondo, Kid Icarus, New Adventure Island, Wonder Boy, Super/Ghouls N' Ghosts, DoReMi Fantasy, Legend of Kage, Spinmaster, Ninja Gaiden 1-3, Mega Turrican, Super Turrican 1-2, Ninja Spirit, Pulseman, Contra 3, Shadow Dancer, Shinobi 3, Yoshi Story, etc, etc).

The Wii collects dust only where the house is dusty.

I wonder how many of these statements of "conventional wisdom" for the Wii comes from people who do NOT own the console.

More than happy with my Wii. Even with a relatively bare 2011 schedule so far, it's going to get more use than my 360 going forward. Fable 3 and Gears 3 are all I have lined up as definites for the future on 360, whereas with Wii I'm definitely getting Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby, Zelda, might be getting Epic Mickey, Goldeneye, Sonic Colours, past titles like Sin and Punishment 2, NMH 2. Then there's (hopefully) Western releases for Xenoblade and The Last Story.

Yeah, it has great games and controls but what about the graphics???

I really have trouble understanding the situation in here, I see these threads all the time where Wii owners are talking about how they have so many good games that they have no time to play them all and how the Wii has more quality software than other consoles they own(ed). Then, in the sales threads, when the issue of declining sales comes into play, the culprit for the decline is supposedly software drought.

How is this possible?

Well they certainly dont do anything for me.  last time i picked up a wii game was when endless ocean 2 came out.

A good chunk of Wii's appeal is WiiWare and Virtual Console imo.  That's not really reflected in sales threads.

My personal preferences for retail titles also skews more niche (Shiren the Wanderer, Sin & Punishment, Lost in Shadow, Little King's Story, Muramasa, etc) which Wii has a lot of, but also wouldn't really be much of a presence in sales charts.  The problem is what it's always been, an utter lack of AAA titles outside Nintendo's.

I have more than enough games atm, and I don't even own Mario Galaxy 1/2 or Twilight Princess. :p

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
I am very happy, I have around 23 games and counting, I am also going to be getting DK, Epicmickey, mario galaxy2 & sin & punishment... I think most wii owners really missed a lot of games thinking everythin but nintendo on the wii is crap. Now that nintendo is going to release the DS3 next year, nintendo should begin a campain about good games on the platform a little bit of advertising...
 Next year also look very promising, Last story, Xenoblade, Zelda, Pikmin3, mario sports mix and who knows what else...
