A good chunk of Wii's appeal is WiiWare and Virtual Console imo. That's not really reflected in sales threads.
My personal preferences for retail titles also skews more niche (Shiren the Wanderer, Sin & Punishment, Lost in Shadow, Little King's Story, Muramasa, etc) which Wii has a lot of, but also wouldn't really be much of a presence in sales charts. The problem is what it's always been, an utter lack of AAA titles outside Nintendo's.
