If you want platformers go and look up some PSN/XBLA games.

Many of them are on par with Wii platformers (aside from the Mario games):

Limbo, Braid, Shadow Complex, Splosion Man, The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, N plus, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Trine

to name only a few.

Shadow Complex is a pure adventure game, like Metroid or Cave Story.  Braid is more puzzle game too really (and horribly, horribly overrated... total style as substance thing going on there).

I'd agree that BC ReArmed, N and Splosion Man are pretty great though.  Limbo was nice, but criminally short.  There's also great stuff like Mega Man 9-10 and Super Meat Boy, though those are also on Wii (or will be).

Still, I just don't think you can beat Wii, even without Mario.  There's games like Klonoa, Lost in Shadow, Lost Winds 1-2, Sonic Colors, Wario Land: Shake It, Kirby's Epic Yarn, deBlob, Castlevania ReBirth, Contra reBirth, bit.trip Runner, And Yet it Moves, Dewey's Adventure, NyxQuest, NPC Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Ivy the Kiwi, Metal Slug Collection... lots of great stuff, both retail AND downloadable.  Plus if you add the Virtual Console, it's just gets laughably lopsided in Wii's favor (Bonk 1-3, Sonic 1-3k, Ristar, Dynamite Headdy, Earthworm Jim 1-2, Magician Lord, Donkey Kong Country 1-3, Kirby's Adventure/SS/DL3/64, MegaMan 1-4, Castlevania 1/3/4/Rondo, Kid Icarus, New Adventure Island, Wonder Boy, Super/Ghouls N' Ghosts, DoReMi Fantasy, Legend of Kage, Spinmaster, Ninja Gaiden 1-3, Mega Turrican, Super Turrican 1-2, Ninja Spirit, Pulseman, Contra 3, Shadow Dancer, Shinobi 3, Yoshi Story, etc, etc).
