GT5 is around 7 or 8 million now, as of december it was around 6,50 million.

You should update this list.

You realize those are shipped values? Very different from units sold. Also sales drop significantly after the holidays, why would PD ship as much as 1.5 million units when the game is selling less then 30k weekly? I doubt if the game has shipped over 7.5 million.

VGC has the game at 6.06 million sales, but that makes the cut off of this list.

I want to see Black Ops, Reach and GT5 on this list, as well as to see how much have Wii games moved and how much FFXIII has moved. Please update when you get the chance, at least to the end of 2010's data.

So... 25 games have already sold 10 million copies. Kinect Adventures, Pokemon B/W and COD 2011 will all reach that mark as well. And then some others like Just Dance 2 are worth watching. Even if COD 2012 launched on next gen consoles, it might reach 10 million on the current batch. So there's a really good shot 30 games will sell 10 million.

And there's 11 games at 20 million, and that might reach to 15. Wii Fit Plus for sure, plus maybes on KA, B/W and COD 2011.

Compared with last gen, where I think just San Andreas sold 20 million, and probably less than 10 games sold 10 million. GTA III trilogy, GT 3 and 4, Pokemon 3rd gen and 1st gen remake. I don't know if all numbers are complete, but Need for Speed Underground 1 or 2 might have made it. And... that's it?

Thing is... the market was probably actually less healthy this gen. It just seems the sales are more concentrated towards the top titles. The 11 over 20 million are 9 Nintendo and 2 Activision. The 25 over 10 million include 17 Nintendo and 5 Activision.

why o why are these comments still being made. Companies ship a lot extra when their titles sell very well and are expecting to hold legs because retailers want to make sure they have them in stock.

Kinect a freaking piece of hardware, which takes up far more space then software had 700k units in stores at the end of the 2010 according to vgc. 8mil shipped, 7.3mil sold. If you want software of similar scale, halo 3 was at 8mil shipped and 6.9mil sold according to vgc at the end of 2007. GT5 sales to shipment ratio is perfectly in line with this especially considering far more retailers around the world need to stock gt5 and I'm assuming it still hasn't gotten a pricecut in emeaa, its biggest region, to drive sales. Though I may be wrong about that.

At the most it is undertracked by 300-500k. 1-2mil is just laughable.

Anyway I hope this list gets updated as well.

It's sad to see Gears of War 1 & 2 be bumped off the list. I hope Gears 3 has enough momentum to make the list, but with a new Call of Duty title this fall, and Wii Part/DKCR/GT5 creeping up the list, it will be hard. It will have to be a 7 million seller to get in, and it has to do that in a year before who knows what other multi-console games compete for positions on the graph. I hope it gets in and stays, it's a really good story driven shooter.

I can't help but to feel the same way.
