It is aestetically slicker, but the design should focus a bit more on real use cases.
Example 1: Activity Feed gives a lot of space to friends wall postings and relegates all hot forum activity to an indifferentaited and smaller fragment at bottom right. It might very well be - as in my case - that the main activity is seeing what goes on in the forums, thus I'd like them to have much more space. Maybe a tab structure, where they have the same priority as the wall activities?
Example 2: Some of my friends' walls are so filled up with the notifications that they've posted on someone else's that there is barely spaces for the proper posts. If I'm reading a wall I don't want to navigate with the pager through pages of useless notifications, I think they should not count to the post count per page.
Example 3: When I jump into a thread, very often I want to go to the last page. I can't see any way to do that, I only see previous/next controls next to the post counts. For really big threads it's a chore, and I resorted to editing the url directy. When I'm done reading a page, the controls should be duplicated right there at the bottom of the page because the most likely behaviour is that I want to click for next
I'll test it a bit more later, and add further comments.
