I wonder this, since I see you defend it so often, how would feel if said that Half-Life 2 was crap, even though they haven't played it? You'd be in here slinging punches like a beer belly in a drunk fight.

Keep that in mind while you're speaking about what MNR should/shouldn't cost, or how there are "better" games out there.

He's not saying MNR is crap.

He makes a valid point, you could apply your "choice" method to everything in this world. There comes a point where a bar needs to be put in place though ...

Making a valid point doesn't excuse everything else he's posted in here. He said there are better games out there and that it isn't worth $59.99. Both are bold and uncalled for, particularly when he's basing some of that on reviews (which aren't bad to begin with) and not personal playtime.

It's hard to come up with a object outlook when you have no experience to have any outlook in the first place. And of all people, he should know this, he gets on  people for their "out of place" judgments all the time.

Valid point....and no, I'm not saying MNR is crap(I've said time and time again, that I haven't played it, and don't know its quality). I'm giving my opinion that based off of no play time with the game, and from what I've heard, the game is not worth 10 dollars more than RDR from my gut feeling.

For me, the game doesn't feel like a full retail release, due to a few things, like lack of hype despite being a PS3 exclusive, and par reviews, demo impressions, loading times, actual nature of the game compared to competition, and pricing compared to competition(it's actually more costly than the vast majority of new games on Amazon, at the full 59.99 price tag) ect. I wish it was 39.99. Plus, there is already a fantastic imo AAA game in that genre on the console for around 20 bucks called Wipeout HD, which is one of my favorite games this generation.

Now, hell yes, I would be upset if some troll came in with a one liner talking about how much Galaxy sucks compared to LBP or the like, but if someone was honest, and openly admitted their opinion, I might not like it and yes I might oppose it, but it is their right, and the reason there is even a forum to begin with.

I think more people would agree with me about MNR, than you would expect. Imagine if the game wasn't a PS3 exclusive. Imaging if it was a multiplatform game, selling for 59.99 which required a patch to be playable, and imagine it was launching against RDR and Alan Wake. How many people would object to me opining that the game should be discounted then?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

So hype dictates what and what is not a full retail release? Since when? The games has been getting 8's and 9's for review scores (although I don't read reviews much) so saying it's poorly reviewed... is an overstatement at MOST. Have we really become a community where anything below a 10 is not a buy?

Also, the game has FAR more content than MK Wii, so how can 10 extra bucks not be justified? I'm sorry brah but you're just not making any sense. Wipeout HD is great, excellent, and I'm glad you can see the epicness in this game (played it at a friend's house), but MNR still has far more content than Wipeout HD... by more than a mile.

In any case, MNR makes games like MK Wii look overpriced, just by the sheer amount of content difference in each. -__- There, see? I can do it too.

I didn't mean to imply that the reviews were terrible, just that they were average, and for my money, to pay full price for a game, it needs to be...well.....really really good. The only things I have to go on, to determine if a game is really really good are reviews, user and critic(and it's more the text then they numbers that I look at, usually), and my own judgements of footage from the game, as well as hype level from the community. Hype doesn't determine anything(shitty games can be hyped very highly). However the PS3 community goes apeshit over the release of even the lowliest exclusive content, and since the hype level for this game has been much lower compared to any other PS3 exclusive I've ever encountered, I can only deduce that people aren't as excited about it as they are about other exclusives or even amazingly, the multiplat RDR which EVERYONE seems to be playing and enjoying this week on this forum.

All of these factors combined, mixed with the fact that a guarnteed very good game that I am currently playing just released for a cheaper price, and also piled on top of the fact that I'm not even a huge racing or LBP fan, mixed in with the fact that people are already screaming for a patch to fix the apparently horrendous loading issues, means that I wouldn't pay full price for this. I wouldn't. The key word being "I"

You might, but I wouldn't, and while I wouldn't warn people against a game I've never played, I certainly wouldn't recommend it as a top pick of anything either. Again, this thread is actually about the OP comparing RDR and MNR, and due to the factor's I've mentioned, he picked up RDR. What I've been talking about is directly related to what this thread is about.

Finally, you can add custom levels to anything and call it "more content." Fact is, I want to play a game, not an engine. I can technically play any game forever, but it's more about the quality of the content than the amount. Generally, professional developers are who I prefer to download content from, not users.

PS: I have no love for MK:Wii. That said, I'm not trying to imply that a game is "better" than MNR in this thread, but I have in other threads, and if you want my opinion of why I'd assume MK:Wii is "better"(which has nothing to do with the quality of the game), this isn't the place to discuss it. Go look at my thread history and you can probably dig up some MNR discussions from me previously that relate to my opinions on the actual nature of the gameplay in both games. You might want to use Dead Space as a search criteria, because I used that game as an example alot when discussing MNR. However, please don't bring that crap in this thread. I've never played MNR, and I can only speculate, which I've repeated in this thread over 10 times now.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

MNR looks like fun, but I would definitely choose RDR as well.

I mean $60 is a bit much for a kart racer.

the difference between you and me is... when I haven't played a title, I don't go and telling people how I think the game is overpriced or not worth the money.

That to me is more than "merely stating your personal opinion".

O rly?

haha well he's probably not coming back.

Not surprising since he did the same thing when I called him out in another thread

If you think 60$ is a bit much for MNR, then you must also think MK is overprice by a mile. Because the content in MNR far exceeds the content in MKWII, one of the highest selling kart racers this gen.

Now now people. I didn't want arguments to happen so let's stop with the arguments about quality or price.

I could've bought both at the same time but I really didn't need to because I just haven't had the time to play my PS3 and I've yet to complete Dragon Age, Assassin's Creed II, DJ Hero, Mirror's Edge and my bro wanted to play Red Dead so that's just another reason why I got Red Dead over ModNation. I'll get it just not right now because I've got heaps of games yet to be completed.

Pffft.... MK was $50.

But I wouldn't pay full price for either.

well I know I'm getting MNR, me and my friends played the hell out of the PS3 demo, we played for 3 hours the day it came out and have played every day since on that single track and didn't lose a bit of interest. as long as you enjoy RDR and planning on getting MNR, then don't worry about it.
