Almost all of my video games were gifted to me up until about 10 years ago with the occasional exception. My PS2 was pretty much my first true VG purchase. And I actually got my PS3 and first two games for it pretty much for free (won a gift card at the local mall back in 2009). On top of that I got about $400 worth of free Rock Band DLC abusing a bottle cap contest that went on back in the day....

PS3 360 gap below 2 million post adjustments

Well if you were to look at it in vacuum just in the first 3 months of the year PS3 has outsold 360 by about 850k. If that rate were to continue it would pass it some time in October or November. Of course the likelihood of a 360 price cut in that time frame is relatively high. But like I've stated in the past, the minimal impact of the price cuts in Spain and Australia last year suggest that one...

Nintendo are victims of their own success. There was no way they could have maintained 2008, or even 2009-like sales for long. Look at the batshit numbers both Wii and DS HW and SW were pulling back in 2008. The 3DS isn't coming even remotely close to either of those, at least not in the USA....
