I understand how you feel, I really do. But in all fairness to Square Enix, FF15 does look like a good game. I will not give FF13-3 a chance based on what we've seen so far.
You have to remember Square Enix is a business. Do you think a PS3 game with the name FF13 Versus on it will sell many copies?
No, Square Enix had no choice. They had to change the name from FF13 to avoid the stigma associated with FF13.
Fair enough, we'll give them a chance. I want to see Ito and Minagawa continue, if they did a new Tactics Ogre or something I would accept it. but in all fairness FF15 does look good.
Unfortunately it seems like its not happening. We might just have to wait longer who knows? FF15 does look good. I think the main reason they wanted to change the name is because of the stigma of FF13.
They want to distance FF15 as far away from that game as possible because they know it will affect sales.
Either way, if the dream is truly over, then its over, we will have to turn elsewhere.
Hey whats up man. Shinji Hashimoto was at the PS4 reveal and he said that Final Fantasy is coming. Theres a good chance that means FF15 as a launch title or close, because FF14 is released this year for PS3.
FF13-3 hasn't been confirmed to have a released date, so it might be PS3 and PS4 platforms.
I think FF Versus 13 will probably be announced for PS3 and PS4, like Diablo 3.
Did you hear that Square Enix recently said they want to cut down long development times because they felt it was dishonest. However I'm worried about what they said regarding market localisation.
Anyway I'm away for a week so I won't be in touch until after about a week. maybe. Sony's conference is always on Wednesday or Thursday (I think), and I think Square Enix will maybe announce it with Sony.
I don't see who else could be making this game other than Hiroyuki Ito or Hiroshi Minagawa. Kitase and Toriyama are still on FF13-3 and Nomura is on Versus.
Thanks for the link. As I'm thinking about it, I also don't believe all of it. Wada said he wants Kitase to have a new game ready every 2 years.
That potentially means that Kitase's team are moving straight onto FF15 after Lightning Returns.
That being said, Ito has still had unknown whereabouts for the last few years. I think we just need to be patient. Development kits for the PS4 have been available a while, that Agni's Philosophy demo apparently took 6 months to make. I think they don't want to give anything away now, but I think theres a good chance the FF12 team are still working on FF15.

Even though FInal Fantasy 12 has a good story, likeable characters, great graphics, level design, content, etc, combat and everything surrounding it falls flat and kills what could have been a great game. I'm sure they'll add some tweaks and additions to the battle system....
Jumpin said: I haven't enjoyed the franchise since FF11, and I hated FF9 as well. Essentially, Final Fantasy X has really been the only worthy title since 1999. Last I enjoyed was FFXII, before that it was FFIX, and before that it was FFVII....
Points that support Hiroyuki Ito (Director: FFVI, FFIX, FFXII) is currently directing FFXVI for PS4/XB1in Gaming Discussion on 19 October 2013

Hironobu Sakaguchi is why FF was great and why it isnt now. Hmmm I may just give FF one more chance if he takes the riegns. Yeah, as long as Sakaguchi believes in him, that's all that matters....
