Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening reviews: Meta 88, OC 88

Loved the GB Color version of that game.

Eventually I'll buy the remake, but not for the full price.
Bought Breath of the Wild for less than €50 (a huge 50 - 150 hour Zelda game)... and I currently can't justify to pay the same (or more) for a much more limited (and graphically less impressive) 10 - 15 hour Zelda game.
I don't have anything against smaller scaled Zelda games (f.e. A Link Between Worlds, Minish Cap), but the price should reflect that. Breath of the Wild was a "Triple-A" home console game, but Link's Awakening is only a "Triple-A" handheld game, which were priced around $20 less than home console games in the past.

Having said that: I like the graphical style of the remake and would love to see other 2D-Zelda classics using the same assets.
On the top of my wishlist would be a remake of "Minish Cap" with the Link's Awakening graphic engine... which 2D-Zelda classic would be your next choice?

For once I agree with you. I got it for $45 due to discounts and all, but $60 is a bit much for this game.

Seems a bit much for a game I probably won't pick up more than 3 or 4 times (the number of play sessions it takes to finish the game, and I have done it in two before). I base this on the amount I played the older versions of the game (which I have purchased three times in the past, the last time I believe was equal in price to about 3USD). I wish it all the luck, but the game lacks the price value to me.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I've been playing it. Enjoying it. It is, however, just a really pretty Gameboy game at its heart. $60 may be a bit much but whatcha gonna do? *Shrugs*

I do have to admit that, in my 30+ years of gaming, this is the first game I can think of where the frame rate actually annoys me.

This is the only Zelda game I haven't played so I caved and used a voucher for it.

I  but to reply to the bolded I am in the same camp. I even found myself closing my eyes when leaving buildings that dip to 30 fps will take time to adjust if I ever adjust to it

This is the reason I can't recommend it to other people. At least paying the 60 dollars. There's a lot of quality of life changes which I like, however, I've gotten to the 6th dungeon and I've played it for 5 hours and that includes looking for the extras like the seashells and pieces of heart.
