Don't like it. A character with hnoistory on Nintendo doesn't belong in Smash

@melby
So let's say a character you love from a franchise not on a Nintendo platform, who you think fits great in the playstyle of the game, bringing with them great music, and an amazing stage, you wouldn't want that character in Smash?
Can you explain why you'd rob yourself of that enjoyment just because they have no history on Nintendo? (Joker does, since Persona Q2, however. But that's besides the point.)

I don't see how i am robbing myself of anything really. It's a NIntendo-game to celebrate Nintendo-history, it deludes the package to add these characters with irrelevant(like a 3DS-game that came out a week ago and flopped) or no history with Nintendo at all

SSB isnt about nintendo history. Its a video game crossover. Persona is a popular game. Joker one of the most popular new protagonist in the past few years

He is one of the MC s in PQ2

Yeah, but that's a spin off, and isn't even out in the west yet. His history with Nintendo is super slim, BUT I COULD NOT CARE LESS

Cloud was on Chain of Memories, Recoded, FF Explorer, Theatrhythm FF, spin off everywhere. They still follow smash rules: appear at least 1 time on Nintendo system

Like Cloud? He is only in spin off games on gba/ds/3ds after all

A little close minded on this? A lot of Ultimate's newcomers are half clones ....

That’s why I didn’t include just Ultimate’s newcomers ;)

Take Ryu for example. He completely changed how Smash characters CAN be developed. Using command inputs in a Smash game is pretty insane when Smash Bros. uses two buttons instead of six in Street Fighter.

Heck I forgot to mention Robin. Utiilizing your weaponry carefully as your sword and magic can run out temporarily.

Then you got Bayonetta. Her combo ability reflects her gameplay from her games. Sure it was kinda ridiculous in Smash 4, but it felt like you were playing Bayonetta from her games.

These are just examples. All I’m saying is that we should not assume Sakurai is going to make one character based off another, especially when said character, Rex, doesn’t fight like the other, Shulk, in their respective games.

This was such a poorly thoughtout reply. I will pretend I never read it.

Meh, he looks kind of like a generic anime millennial character. But I guess Persona 5 is kind of a big deal? I guess I just don’t get the hype. May as well say a twink version of Sailor Moon guy is joining.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

WHO? WHO? Yeah I know, Persona is popular around gaming forums, but outside that, a lot of people are wondering who the f is this guy.

This pick makes me scare of the possibility that we might not have a single fighter from an western franchise... Wich have characters that are 1000x more popular than this choice

Dont be complaining when they announce a character from Minecraft.

Minecraft artstyle simply doesn't match with Smash. Putting the character in the game it would look like some cringing hacker mod and redesigning it would lose its purpose, since the game is remarkable by its flat and pixelated textures in 3d blocks.

The MAXIMUM I could see of Minecraft representation in Smash would be Assist Trophy, the only place that have space for these characters with ugly artstyle

The guy from Minecraft would stand out, and it's a character that people actually recognise. He would be a way better pick than this guy.

Actually, to be fair, it would be an atrocity. Joker at least can have a cool moveset that can grow on people despite not recognizing him

Then we’ll agree to disagree then. If you’re not going to provide a counterpoint then I have nothing for you.
