mark24 said: If its sold about 3mln and budget was 20mln then yes. Lets count: 3mln x 30F (lowest price i ever seen U2 in UK) = 90mln pounds. 90mln - 20mln = 70mln.
70mln - not bad :) |
You cant take the lowest price in UK and assume this is world wide the price. A lot of the games are sold to full price in the first two months. And in Euro countries the game sells for 50 Euro still thats 45 Pounds. All people I know have bought it for 55-60 Euros/50-53 pounds. In the first 8 weeks we can assume the game sold at full price. 50 Dollar in US 35-40 pounds in UK 5000-6000 Yen in Japan and 50-60 Euro in rest Eu. In the first 8 weeks it sold 2 Million Units so its safe to assume the average price is 38 pounds/55 Dollar/55 Euro/5500 Yen.
The slightly higher price from the beginnig counters the lower price from the end by far since the most units are sold in the first 8 weeks until now.
Uk is the cheapest market for games in Europe you cant take your cheapest price and assume everyone pays that much. In Norway and Australia its even more expensive.
Its a Sony game so no royalties for BR and no royalties for Sony. Uncharted 2 is highly profitable a Sony game is profitable with a lot less units sold.
My calculation seems was not correct though since I underestimated the share for retailers. But nothing changes. And Uncharted 2 has great legs. If it has similar legs like Uncharted 1 it can top out at 4 or even 5 Million Units. The game would be damn profitable.
