I think it will end up selling over 3.5 million copies, whe it's all said and done. Also the game has made way more than a profit, as it had a budget of less than 25 millions.

(a) the game had a similar budget to uncharted 1 (stated by ND in an interview)
(b) ND was aiming for sales similar to uncharted 1
uncharted 2 is tracking alot higher than uncharted 1 (i.e., only 30k short of it's predecessor while being on the market for approximately 12 months shorter).

Given (a), (b) and , I think it's safe to conclude that uncharted 2 has already turned a profit.

Yes, they already made a profit.
I'm going to throw some random numbers here.

Let's say the total cost for everything is 60 million (including development, advertisement, etc.)
Let's say they make around 30$ profit per game sold.

($30 x 2.8 million) - $60 million = $24 million in profit

Direct profit from this game came at about 1.2m sales at least... It sold over twice that.

Uncharted 2 costs 20M just like Uncharted 1, right?

Let's talk about the US sales and use a low price (just to make sure that we won't have an ilogical number):

$20 (low price) x1.34M (number of people who bought this game)= 26.80M

This number would be MUCH higher with real price + other regions.

Did Uncharted 2 make a profit? Easily, as wholikeswood said. I am going to speculate and say that they earned +$70m.

Yeah im pretty sure they have made a good sized profit. And will continue to do so for a while

i remember a interview with one of the developers where he said he hopes it will sell 2,5 Millions, because then they would make another sequel for sure.
