No surprise as the game is French.

By that logic, Famitsu would give 40 to every Japanese game, and IGN would give 10 to every American game.

So u dont believe there is national bias? Behave yourself. Famitsu is proven to favour Japanese games in an almost bizarre way. Swedish mags give higher scores to Swedish games etc.

With US (and perhaps also UK) it's different.

so that means it automatically get an 5/5, lol, other sites have been giving it an 90+ score as well, but just wait for biased sites to spoil this, Edge I am looking at you.

How much u predict Edge will give it?

10. 9 if there are technical issues.

This is the sort of game that Edge loves.

I t will be interesting to see. But I hope your wrong. I dont want Edge to be that predictable... I agree with Numonex, Edge are among the best reviwers in the world, together with Eurogamer.

Being the best reviewers in the world means they should give a bad score to a great game that tries to be different?

I would disagree that Edge are among the best reviewers in the world, their tastes are far too strange, but I would agree with EuroGamer. They're not suckers for hype (with few exceptions), and they review every game on its own merits. They also don't throw 9 and 10 at everything. Their giving MGS4 an 8 (which I disagree with, but that's irrelevant) shows that they don't care what anybody thinks, they are the reviewers and it's their review. The internet needs more reviewers like them.

I would guess 9 from EuroGamer, 9 from Edge, 8.5 from GameSpot, 9.2 from IGN and VGC...well, that depends entirely on who gets the review.

Favour it, of course. Japanese games are made for Japan.

Heavy Rain is made for both America and Europe (and Japan, a bit), so there shouldn't be any national bias there. Also, a 5/5 is not a perfect score. There's no perfect score in a 5 or even 10 point system. 100 point system...depends how you look at it. No game is perfect. Not Heavy Rain, not MGS4, not OoT.

well i agree there is no such thing as a perfect game, however HR did obtain the maximum score, which is what i was trying to point out.

it's the future of handheld

Other french sites reviews :

Jeuxvideo.com (but the reviewer doesn't say the game is bad, just that he doesn't know how to review it and goes as far as giving it a 15/20 in graphics) : 15/20 (7.5/10)
JVN.com : 19/20 (9.5/10)
Jeuxactu.fr : 16/20 (8/10)

Heavy Rain will be a great title, its different and I like that,

15/20 for graphics?? i think that review lost all credibility

'doesn't know how to review it'

that's an interesting point, and one I'm curious about.  I see many core game reviewers stuggling a bit with deciding if Heavy Rain is good or not, due to how they are used to evaluating a videogame.

I'm not saying HR is good, I won't know until I try it, but I do expect it to garner some mid to low reviews simply from uncertainty of how to evaluate it because it's pushing against so many established videogame standards (or at least on paper it sounds like it is).

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Well Jeuxvideo.com is not a reference anyway especially when they review games that are neither FPS or TPS.
