The 360 does not need the Japanese market to be successful. 36.4 million 360s have sold outside of Japan. So it has sold 1.2 million sales in 4 years in Japan and the 360 sales are slowing and Japanese developers have no faith in the 360. Guess what Microsoft does not really care. The vast majority of 360 fans do not even count the Japanese market. 360 has been profitable for quite a while now and the launch of Windows 7 has seen Microsoft make huge profits in the last quarter of 2009.

There may never be a slim 360. To release one would not go down well with the almost 38 million user base of the 360. Existing HDDs would not be compatible with the slim 360. Releasing a slim 360 for Japan market may be a good idea if Microsoft wants the 360 to head towards 2 million sales in Japan.

Seems good to me... A few exclusives, full support from devs with a ww vision, even support from a few of the very local ones, etc.

Xbox has always been struggling in Japan, as long as it keeps gaining ground i don't see what the problem is. Inappropriate title imo.

My thread title was based off what I thought was Konami's comment but it turns out those comments were from Koei. If you know how to edit titles I can change it.

I have no idea dude how to...

As for "Konami" instead of "Koei" justifying the title... hum hum

So is this why sega made a port of bayonetta ? Because it was supposed to be a 360 exclusive originally but sega has no faith in microsoft hmm

D3 Publisher
-No JP voices for Bioshock 2

5pb
-Looking into PS3 development
-8 titles for 2010, AVG/STG genre

Marvelous
-Aware of the desires for NMH2 port
-Title announcement within the year
-No intention on porting Oboromuramasa

D3 Publisher: Well the PS3 version will be the same as the 360 version with no JP voices. The PC version they're publishing will be even worse for Japanese gamers as it will be all in English including the text. Though it will come with a Japanese manual...

5pb: Besides those graphic novels they can really screw up games. One of my favorite Cave games that they converted to the 360, DoDonPachi Daioujou (shooter) was screwed up by them last year. They delayed another game shooter from Cave as well (Ketsui) because of their problems. It was supposed to be released last March on the 360! It makes me glad that Cave is finally doing their own ports on the 360 now. (Deathsmiles, Mushihimesama Futari, the upcoming Espgaluda II, etc.)

Marvelous: I'm not sure if they're publishing it, but NMH1 is coming out soon for the 360 and PS3 in Japan. The 360 version will also be uncensored (like the US Wii version), the original JP Wii release of NMH1 was censored. The PS3 version will also be censored like the JP Wii version.

As for NMH2, well they haven't even announced if/when they are going to release NMH2 for the Wii in Japan! So I'm not holding my breath on that one.

@epicberserk: A different company (Platinum Games) made Bayonetta for the 360 and Sega their publisher decided to port it themselves to the PS3 (as well as publishing it), which is probably why the PS3 version is not as good as the 360 one.

There could be a major hardware revision that changes just one dimension of the case so that it still could use existing 360 hard drives.  Or they could go with a slim that has a 250-320gig internal hard drive with no ability to change it.

Ofcourse they dont. But japan is a huge center of creativity and not having any base in japan is stupid. Releasing a slimbox makes a lot of sense- look how much the PS3 has peaked since the slim release. An updated SKU would be gr8 for MS and consumers. Its about time too. The damn thing is starting to look kinda ugly...:)

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

Sounds like fans and Sega wants to make a new Shenmue for 360 vut with the aid of MS, OMG imagine it happens and exclusive!!
