So it has sold 1.2 million sales in 4 years in Japan and the 360 sales are slowing and Japanese developers have no faith in the 360. Guess what Microsoft does not really care. The vast majority of 360 fans do not even count the Japanese market. 360 has been profitable for quite a while now and the launch of Windows 7 has seen Microsoft make huge profits in the last quarter of 2009. There may never be a slim 360. To release one would not go down well with the almost 38 million user base of the 360. Existing HDDs would not be compatible with the slim 360. Releasing a slim 360 for Japan market may be a good idea if Microsoft wants the 360 to head towards 2 million sales in Japan. |
There could be a major hardware revision that changes just one dimension of the case so that it still could use existing 360 hard drives. Or they could go with a slim that has a 250-320gig internal hard drive with no ability to change it.
