numonex said: The 360 does not need the Japanese market to be successful. 36.4 million 360s have sold outside of Japan. So it has sold 1.2 million sales in 4 years in Japan and the 360 sales are slowing and Japanese developers have no faith in the 360. Guess what Microsoft does not really care. The vast majority of 360 fans do not even count the Japanese market. 360 has been profitable for quite a while now and the launch of Windows 7 has seen Microsoft make huge profits in the last quarter of 2009. There may never be a slim 360. To release one would not go down well with the almost 38 million user base of the 360. Existing HDDs would not be compatible with the slim 360. Releasing a slim 360 for Japan market may be a good idea if Microsoft wants the 360 to head towards 2 million sales in Japan. |
Ofcourse they dont. But japan is a huge center of creativity and not having any base in japan is stupid. Releasing a slimbox makes a lot of sense- look how much the PS3 has peaked since the slim release. An updated SKU would be gr8 for MS and consumers. Its about time too. The damn thing is starting to look kinda ugly...:)
Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.
