Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:
If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

I'm not saying it won't sell more than Arc and Natal (in fact; I think it will) but to call it innovative or fresh technology is plain wrong, and as a peripheral it is vastly simpler than both Arc and Natal on its own. The bad news around here is that a Wii-Mote + Nunchuck with Motion Pluss and Vitality Sensor will cost nearly 300$ per controller... |
Oh really? What gaming company has used this technology before?

It doesn't just measure pulse. It also measures the electric conductivity of your fingertip. So it's closer to a polygraph test.
I highly doubt any games will require a Wii remote, a nunchuck, a Motion+, and a vitality sensor. The Wii comes with a nunchuck, and Wii Sports Resort has sold over 12 million copies, so that's over 12 million Motion+'s out there. Pretty big head start.

Electronic scales and strain gauges existed for many decades before Wii Fit. It doesn't really matter if the technology is new. How it's applied can be innovate no matter how old the underlying technology is.
The vitality sensor component could be under a couple dollars, maybe even a few cents. It's probably just a led light with a light sensor. I don't see how that could possibly add up to hundreds of dollars.
Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
I agree, though it's probably because Nintendo is more likely to get it right again with the Vitality Sensor, whereas Natal and the Arc, at least for now, aren't going to have as big of an impact.
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
Standard pulseox found in any hospital. There are even disposable versions available.
Wii Vitality sensor
Notice that little hole in the bottom? That's probably the light sensor.

The Vitality Sensor is a joke right now. Have to see how they use it before we can tell if it's the next Wii Fit or the next Wii Music.
Aidman said: I trusted Nintendo even when it did the worst way ever how can I don't trust them when they are by far the leader this gen. Well Vitality Sensor will be a success no doubt in that and about sony arc & microsoft natal project I really don't care if they success or fail it's not Nintendo problem. Nintendo at the first place or at the last place NINTENDO was, is and will be forever THE BEST COMPANY IN GAMING INDSUTRY. |
I agree with the last sentence!!!!
I expect to see it before natal and Arc is released, they will show a few games for it then release them bundled with vitality sensor in the next 3 weeks, possibly!
