Late 2010 or 2011, the PS3 overtaking the 360 in sales is inevitable. Now one could only hope that the PS3 will *fingers crossed* overtake the 360 in software sales before the 8th generation starts.

If it does in 2011, so what? Xbox won. PS3 released in 2006 and was supposed to destroy Xbox within a year or two most people thought. This is with PS3 cutting it's price from $600 to $300 while X360 only went from $400 to $300. Plus PS3 has free Blu Ray, free online, free wi-fi which is worth hundreds more.

But I dont think it will anyway, not after Reach and 360 price drops and Natal.


Xbox 360 is doing amazingly and will easily sell double Xbox. (triple most likely. Also X360 is profitable now while PS3 is still a huge money loser.

Last gen: PS2 120 million Xbox 25 million. This gen: PS3 maybe win by a little bit, basically a tie. X360 will win 2nd place imo.

Also the PS3 will always be 3rd place in USA that much is certain, and I think if you take Japan out it will always be 3rd place in the rest of the world too. The main reason PS3 has a chance to beat 360 WW is Japan. But Japanese do not buy western game so that market is immaterial imo. Electronic Arts does not sell many games in Japan, so PS3 in Japan does not matter to them, and the same for all Western publishers,

I said maybe. It depends entirely on Natals impact and thats all. If its big then i dont think th ePS3 will ever overtake the 360. If its average it will by the end of 2011. If Natal is meh, it may happen halfway through 2011.

PS3 is not a money loser at all, not more than 360. It just released later so becomes profitable later...

If you had asked me this a few weeks ago, I would have said yes. But after reading a little more about Natal and the games they are supposedly planning to release (games like Wii sports, fit, etc) I think there is a big possibility that we can see a new motion control scheme take off just like the Wii's did.

I think so, I think personally it will overtake it in worldwide sales by the end of THIS year! Thus far I have been right about everything I predicted in 2006.
