@nen- you cant be trusted because the white knight is waaay in the back, while whats her face is right in the front on the left, snake is hogging all the glory though.

@dark- yeah, my dad says the samething to, "give everyone a fait bit of chance" but i dont trust biased reviews to people who are in love with it for franchise name only, regardless who it is, i was looking for a "FAIR" review all this time, and dgc did a fine good job with it,

And no... There isn't a White knight in my avatar nor in my sig, the guy is a Seraphim and the girl is a Cherub, i only have the title of the official thread in my sig to remind people, nothing more, i dont crusade games like a fanboy... though the cherub chick is for the lulz.

I suggest you reading Jin-Shouhen and Kennyheart impressions then, they are by no means "in love" just for franchise name. Yet they enjoyed the game, even though it has it's shair of flaws.

Dgc did a fine job indeed, I compliment him for that, and for I managed to grasp, the game granted enough warrant for him to get the English version.

Also, crusade the game like a fanboy? If you're refering to Darth, he gets a bit overzealous when it comes to FFXIII, the same way some get way too overzealous when it comes to being against a game as well. You have a reference to WKC on your signature, just the same way that Perpride has a reference to FFXIII in his avatar. The reference may be different in content, but in context it works the same, it passes on the message that you're eagerly awaiting or enjoying certain game.

You know I have no quarrel with you when it comes to your FFXIII choice, I explained it to you already. But don't disregard any other impressions just because you found that Dgc's ones fitted more into your liking than others, that's not the fair thing to do ;)

I think this will help you alot:

I learned katakana in 1-2 days. FFXIII should have most attacks and magics written in katakana(pretty much a pseudo-english).

Dunno who Jin-Shouhen is... if it was Tori or Naza or any one of those really good down to earth reviewers round' here i'd check it out, however its very unlikely i'll read a random dudes review lol, i'd rather play the game myself, which i could if i wanted to right now, since my gameguy (he has an imported games biz in hawaii, only 1 island though.) i could jus' go there and try the japanese version but im to lazy.

Yep Dgc did do great didn't he? true it was only impressions, but i took it as the closest thing to a review yet!

No, i know someone in real life that bugs the fuck out of me when it comes to FFXIII... my new co-worker at my new apple job thing, hes a gamer to, and when i asked what was his current hyped game.. i was in horror to find out when he said it was ffxiii, i thought it was cool he was hyped for it at first, but i cant have a gaming conversation with the guy without the constant mention of ffxiii, its annoying. darth is tame in comparison.

Yes its a minor reference to WKC, however the content is not related to WKC in anyway shape or form, my avatar and sig are 100% original, infact im not even sure if there from any game at all lol, not gonna lie im tweaked for white knight, but... i dont go overboard like some do, ya can call me a critic if you want but thats all im guilty of. atleast my judgements are more decent compared to guys like teh patchers.

Disregard huh? pfft, i'll take a look at this Jin's guys review, but only for the sake of being reasonable.

I understand how you feel, I have some coworkers at my lab that whenever a gaming discussion arises, the only thing that they can muster is Call of Duty or Halo. You don't even want to know their views in RPG's in general, makes me want to pour some pretty expensive and rare chemicals down their throats xD

I have 6.5 hours total now and i'm done with the game until I can get the English version [will probably play this version again though since the english version will most likely install a different set of trophies].

There's nothing i'd like to change in the impression with the last two hours. How ever, I think I should mention that the game gets noticably tougher. It also does start to encourage some strategy around the 5 hour mark. However, switching between pure offense and Offensex2/Healer or Offense/Healerx2 when your health is lowering still gets the job done. Still, the increase length in matches does add a bit to the fun. Also, I understand the Crystallium system a bit better and it is indeed just a straight path. There's really no freedom to it.

I'm finding the game quite enjoyable though, but I'm gonna stop here.

You guys thought my impressions were good? I'm flattered.

Isn't the Crystallium system a bit like the Sphere grid in which you had a linear path in the beginning, but once you reached the end of the path, you could go almost anywhere you wanted?

Glad to hear that the game gets challenging as it goes along. One of my complains about recent FF's is that they are often too easy in their main quest, the only difficulty coming from optional dungeons and superbosses.

Also, did you get the hang of the Optima Change and Break systems better in the end of your playthrough?

Edit - You were very informative and thorough in your impressions, which is always welcomed ;) Plus it's always nice to see different point of views about unreleased games, especially on one so sensitive such a new FF game.

I'm just glad that I don't have to wait a year, like we used to, to get the game after the jap release xD I would be dying right now T_T

Im taking a pass altogether on this game.

I hope it to see it the Crystallium system expand more then. I got the hang of Optima change. In the later half of my playthrough it was pretty cool. I've only been able to use the break system on 2 enemies at this point and it was really only usefull for one. Was a metal monster that took very little damage at all from my attacks. I didn't really notice the system until the last 30 minutes or so because you get it going by keeping your attacks up [which is what I was already doing] to fill up an enemy gauge. Other than that one type of enemy, all the other monsters where dead before I could get the gauge filled up.
