Forums - Sales Discussion - COMG! Japan PRE-ORDER Chartz Thread - Will Be Updated Daily!

I think it's safe to say that Mario Tennis is a bit of a disappointment, even if it continues to rise at a steady rate from here on out.

I'll say it once more, 1 point is not 1k in sales. This is a ranking by one Japanese retailer, not the whole market. The sales that one can expect from certain amount of points vary depending on the game, and the system. Then, 200 points could perfectly fit 50k, 100k, 150k, or even 250k in sales.

Now, steady increases in DQX, will be interesting to see how this will develop.

Well you can still pickup your pre-orders 48 hours after the game releases so I think the majority of those people didn't get it day one, but still got the game regardless.

The problem is that you think that COMG is the entire Japan, and it's just a single chain of stores (and a small one). So I wouldn't be surprised if 1pt is just 1 preorder.

Nobody knows how really works that system, you can guess how can the games sell looking past data or related games. Usually, Sony platforms trend to get more preorders than Nintendo platforms. Also, anime related games get more preorders than other games, and usually also the JRPG.

For example, last year, the PSP toriko's game got:

[PSP] Toriko Gourmet Survival! - 276pt

And according to Media Create, first week sales:

[PSP] Toriko: Gourmet Survival  (Bandai Namco) - 62.882

So, be carefull. Because if you misread the COMG pt you can find a disappointment.

People now are complaining about Mario Tennis preorders, but being a Nintendo game and being a sport game I can see easely a +100k opening.

You're right, so these charts are kinda like the Famistu weekly anticaption ratings.

300 for Dragon Quest! Can it reach 400? Can Mario Tennis reach 50?

The two Vita games appear to have hit a wall.

I was hoping to see Persona 4 at least cross 200 points and Mobile Suit Gundam may struggle to cross 100 points. Really sad.

Yes, Gundam is really struggling lately. When was the last game released and how did it do?

I still think Persona 4 will do very well, but I think the pre-orders will go up near launch. It'll most likely reach 200 points closer to launch.

It was a slow day people, don't despair. Numbers tend to do better on weekends.

@Tridrakious It's very likely that both Persona and Gundam reach 200 and 100 points, respectively. Not sure how much that would be in sales, but at least in points that's some fresh air to PSV.
