BBS came out on a userbase of 14 million whereas 3D will come out on a 5 million userbase. It can't really be compared.

On one hand, the opening is extremely unlikely to match BBS. On the other hand, this could be a title that sells for months to come.
I hope Kingdom Hearts 3D will sell well. It's one of the games that inspired me to get a 3DS.
