I had a beautiful OP about the significance of points

but I just can't edit the OP, whenever I do nothing shows up.

But basically points are a general guideline.....we use them as barriers....there are no specifics. They become very useful when you can compare the performances of similar games week 1 sales compared to their points

around 100 - 150 points usually means a game should debut over 100K in Japan

then 200 - 260 points means it'll see a debut over 200K and so on.

So its a great guide.

Wait, so theoretically MH3P is looking at a 1.9 million debut? ~1900 times 1000 = 1,900,000.  Is my  math wrong?

No the trend isn't ever 100 is equal to 100K

as we get higher up that changes..
