Forums - Gaming - King of the RPGs : PS3 or 360 ?

@ Selnor & Starcraft
Im saying just because the 360 has more JRPGs under its belt means nothing, because more than half of them are unplayably bad(in my opinion), and yes I have played quite a few of them if you are wondering. And As a JRPG player I have learned to be quite patient, especially for quality. Valkyria Chronicles are Diamonds surrounded by Coal and Dirt. To me they out do any CURRENT JRPG on 360 with ease do to their balance of both story and gameplay. This is even without the influx of exclusive and Updated versions of JRPGs coming in

Don't get me wrong, it is not the lead PS2 had over all other systems, but it is a lead never the less.

Have you played Lost Odyssey start to finish? What about Blue Dragon?

Until you have, don't come in here making comments about a supposedly poor quality Xbox 360 JRPG library.

For the record, I voted for the XBox360. It's king for now. Could change in the future depending on whether or not you like JRPGs. It will always be the king of WRPGs though, unless Mass Effect gets ported (something I really doubt will ever happen). Or Sony decides to make an awesome WRPG that wipes the floor with Mass Effect (again, something I doubt will ever happen).

Ive Played Blue Dragon, plays and looks like Dragon Quest(which i despise). No I didnt finish it, why would I finish a game I cant stand playing? Same goes for Lost Odyssey, although I put much more time into it than BD. Lost Odyssey felt just like any Turnbased RPG(not a bad thing). Its biggest issue was the loading and chugging with EVERY SINGLE MOVE. The story looked enthralling but I could not suffer the game beyond 10hrs.

You despise dragon quest and hated the single best traditonal turn based JRPG so far this generation because of slight frame rate issues.

I think we've established that your opinion doesn't reflect that of gamers at large.

Those were no "Minor" framerate drops or stuttering issues. The game would litterally go to a crawl while just running from zone to zone. Load time to get to a battle clocked in OVER A MINUTE! more than once. Frame tearing as well quite often and video cutscenes skipped like a bad record.

360 has Mass Effect 1 and 2, case closed.

It also has the best JRPG of this generation (Lost Odyssey) and one of the most underated and misunderstood games of the decade (Too Human).

360 wins, hands down.

PS3 has my 'most liked', but the 360 certainly has a lot more.
