In the famitsu review, the only negative comment they gave was some communication issue during the online. That review was pathetic and didn't justify the score at all.

In the FF13 review, comments supposedly made about the game being linear up until the halfway mark. This bugs me alot more than some communication issues which have been fixed I might add.

After that it's just how likely is something to beat FFXIII's score. You have to look at the wildcard type games like Resonance of Fate at that point, which one has the best chance of not only being an amazing game but hitting it off with western reviewers as a whole as well. Weirdly if I were going to bet on an unexpected underdog I think i would go with 3D Dot Heroes. The review I read said it's beautiful and extremely fun and really just needs self referential and hilarious writing to hit it out of the park which Atlus may be able to provide.

That's by no means a certainty, but I guess I've decided that 3D Dot Game Heroes has the best shot of a jRPG in my mind to beat FFXIII's meta (that's assuming it really is a jRPG when I get to play it)

3D Dot Game Heroes is EPIC! I bought it here in Japan and bought a Japanese PS3 Slim shortly after to play it before I go back home. Been playing some with my GF and the memories starts flowing! I love it, truly amazing game. Will pick up the Western release as well, but I was so intrigued by the game that I had to pick up the Japanese version so I could test it!! Behold the glory of 3D Dot Game Heroes!!!

WKC Western release and FF13 Western release both fail imo, because of lack of Japanese VO... Every self-respecting JRPG on the PS3 this gen includes Japanese VO. But I really love Level 5, they a epic developers and I really want them to do good, so maybe I will still buy WKC Int. Edition. I have already bought the Japanese release, so it's ok.

So, Both games is basically a NO BUY. Yeah, I'm THAT picky (or whatever) =P
