I swear this was already posted, and many were calling the writer on the claim the generation was in doubt. Or was that on another site?

To be fair, NoE said the same thing a few years ago about the DS Lite, outright denying that an updated DS was coming. A week later, the DS Lite was announced.

That's not to say there is a new Wii coming soon, but I wouldn't take this as evidence to the contrary.

The real question is, does anyone still believe Nintendo would launch a Wii HD anytime soon, after NPD posts 3.8 million Wiis sold in December?

Is Pachter trembling in fear from losing his precious Wii HD already?

Reggie's words are being taken seriously from a customer perspective. Bloggers, game journalists and market analysts opinions are not as important as they may claim.

Of course they say that so people don't stop buying Wii's because they think the Wii 2 is coming soon. I expect either a Wii HD in late 2010/2011 or a full Wii 2 in 2012.
