Monster Hunter Freedom: 12/1/2005 VGC sales 1.43 million

Monster Hunter 2: 2/16/2006 VGC sales: .63 million

Monster Hunter Freeedom 2: 2/22/2007 VGC sales: 2.41 million

And now the Wii game has sold a million on the consoles which is in line with the progressive growth of the series.

I want to get this game more and more. I've been looking for a good open-ended action RPG for Wii for a long time, and this looks to be it. Plus I really want to see what the fuss is about for this series in Japan.

Then MW2 (ps3 version) is a flop compared to the x360 version.

Also, there are a lot of things you should consider:

-PSP has a higher installed base in Japan

-Portables are much more popular than consoles in Japan

-Online mode is pay to play on Monster Hunter Tri (Japan)

-Monster Hunter Tri outsold the PS2 games

You can't say a game is a flop compared to another game just because it didn't sold more.

Yes some pretty good sales and can't wait for this to come out in the west. Was hoping it would sell better than it did in Japan, but a million for a 3rd party game on consoles this generation in Japan is already asking too much haha.

It's also a subscription based online RPG. It's outsold every subscription based game in Japan ever released, including (all versions combined of) FFXI and PSO.
