the reason i don't buy nintendo games anymore is that they don't care for the consumer at all, hence the lack of players choice nintendo games this gen. I get it they want more money, and its understandable, but its not good for me (consumer)

By this logic, we should pirate all the software we can because as consumers we want to get goods at the lowest price possible.

Pixel Art can be fun.

You know what I hate about Nintendo? Their peripherals. They never seem to support one more than 1 or 2 games..

ey, if you want to spend more money thats cool, to each his or her own, but not me.

Their sales would increase by lowering the price, they would still be profitable, just not as profitable.

for some reason im having a brain fart... define Players choice?

"Player's Choice is a marketing label used by Nintendo to promote video games on Nintendo game consoles which have sold well; Player's Choice titles are sold at a lower price point than other games. Similar labels have been applied by Sega ("Sega All Stars"), Sony (the "Greatest Hits" and "Platinum range"), and Microsoft ("Platinum Hits" and "Classics") to promote best-selling games on their consoles as well."

The whole thing started with Nintendo.

2.Player Choice- Nintendo seems to have this idea that player choice just decreases profits. I can see where they are coming from with the strength of their evergreen titles but player choice is more than just increased sales and lower profits. It is about letting consumers know what products are quality. This would help the new audience purchase games. Less people would get ripped off and more quality titles would be on retailer shelves. There is really no reason for several year old games to still cost full price.

Very good post... but i'd like to comment on that particular point: there's no "official" Player's choice available, true, but don't forget that many quality Wii titles end in the bargain bins VERY quickly: i could even say that Wii is the cheapest console to play, EVER... if you don't want to pay a game full price, you just wait for 3 to 6 months, and you can pick most of the best titles (except 1st parties, of course) for only 10 to 30 euros/dollars...

I'd even say that it hurts the global Wii market, as most fans now know the deal, and are less and less giving their money on day one...

Now, when it comes to 1st party games, i've just seen Animal Crossing Wii and Wii Music sold at 15 euros during the holydays, so Nintendo sometimes clears stocks, too... they just don't create a special collection for these anymore, cos' it would be in fact the "failure titles" (quite relative, of course), and not the "real" best sellers...

Many other titles are evergreens and still sell very well even after even two years on the market, so they don't want to do the same with ALL their old Wii games... and i can understand, it's normal business to try to maximize your profits when the demand is so huge, so who could blame them? And the second-hand market is still there anyway: they know that, too...

Why would they care about YOU, if you're NOT a "consumer" anyway?

Btw, someone who says he needs a R4 to play Infinite Space is NOT a good "consumer" for anyone: it's not only about "expensive" Nintendo games, it's also about Platinum Games and any other company you don't want to give any of your so precious cents...

Btw, do you think the business model on both HD twins is better? I see some games sold at 70 euros (nearly 100 dollars!): is that the way to go, when Super Mario Bros Wii is actually sold between 35 and 40 euros? My next Wii games are Fragile Dreams and Rune Factory Frontier, and their price is... 35 euros as well... i'm quite glad with my Wii that way...

So OK, Nintendo is sometimes greedy... but actually, Wii and DS offer the best quality/price on the market: it's not only about the cost of the hardware, but also the cost of brand new games, and the occasion you have to pick very fast most quality titles, ending in the bargain bins after only 3 or 6 months...

Most titles except the 1st parties, of course: but is it a reason to constantly blame Nintendo, like you're doin' for years now on these forums? You're gettin' quite annoying, btw...

Isn't Player's choice a Playstation thing?

3. PR- You have Microsoft and Sony fighting it out. Each of them consider Nintendo to be a non issue, not even in the competition. Instead of laughing at their moronic claims and spinning a statement that knocks them both, Nintendo just takes it. Nintendo needs to be more aggressive with their PR statements

i aprove this message, nintendo does need to take out the comptition of being more agressive
