Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which has been the hardest boss you have ever encountered?

Wow... this many posts and not a mention of Demon's Souls yet? That's unexpected...

Hardest I've played is probably either Raam from Gears 1 or Sephiroth in the original Kingdom Hearts.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

- final boss of FFIV, took me 30 minute and I killed him using my very last "throwing item" and using all my elixir/megaelixir (I think)

- final boss of ghost n' goblins (level 6) ... this giant blue bug ... it was able to kill BEFORE I understand how it attacked/touch me ... never killed him

- boss of the level 5 of Z-Out, never beat him ... too hard to avoid his attacks

Tower Knight was hard and Maneater were very hard

but nothing impossible ...

There are lots of hard boss fights that I could put in here, but i'll just name a few:

- Omega weapon and Shinryu in FFV
- True Eve in Parasite Eve
- Nightmare, Dante Must Die difficulty in Devil May Cry
- Sephiroth, Extreme Difficulty in Kingdom Hearts I
- Origin in Tales of Phantasia
- Asura in Vagrant Story

well I only had one job so far... not counting internships, so I guess my current boss is the hardest one I have encountered...

but really, I'd say any WoW raid boss should top any single player boss no?

I am Kong.

Strong and passionate, I tend to be misunderstood, sometimes even feared. I don't want to fight, I don't want to cause trouble, all I ask is a little love, and a little peace. If I don't get what I want, I get angry, and throw barrels and flaming oil at whatever's stopping me. What Video Game Character Are You?

Dr. Robotnik on Sonic 2.

As Libellule already said, the bosses per se aren't hard, they just take different approaches and strategies to overcome. Even some normal enemies can be of more pain and nuisance than bosses in Demon's Souls xD.

@Hephaestos

Single Player bosses tend to be just as difficult or more difficult than raid bosses in MMORPG's, since you've got to give different inputs to each of your party members, instead of having four different people inpunting commands, streamlining operations. It all depends on the quality and skills of the raid team true, but overall, single player bosses can be very difficult.

Asura was not so hard .... well, not so much

To me she was extremely hard, because the only weapon that could even cause a dent in her HP was a Human Class 70 weapon, and I only had Human at 60, I focused too much in Dragon.

Also, you had to go through 3 hellish levels in Iron Maiden before you get to her, so my resources were very scarce when I reached her.
