Also, after your post:

For RPG and Car games, PS3 is the best choice. And PS3 has a better price-performance ratio than 360, online playing is free and the same than 360, and you'll keep a ps3 longer time than 360, technically seen 360 is already old and can't keep up with new ps3 games.

Favourite Games:

PS: Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy VII. PS2: Resident Evil 4, Shadow Hearts Covenant, Final Fantasy X, Silent Hill 4, Soul Calibur III. PS3: Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavy Rain, Valkyria Chronicles, Uncharted 2, Mototstorm PR, God of War III, Modern Warfare 2. Xbox: Suteki, Fatal Frame II DC, Jade Empire. 360: Dead Rising, Lost Odyssey, Dead or Alive 4.

It's funnier if they're not.

The 360 will run your power bill high... So it'll cost you more in the long run. ~_n

I think maybe the PS3 would be right for you guys.

I hear it's coming up quick from being behind.

Bad choice. You should have gone for the Arati 7200.

The Atari 7200 is 100% backwards compatible with the 2600 and has MUCH better graphics.  This will make a huge differnce if you are playing on a HDTV.  Also, there is no added charges for online play or extra wireless addons like the 360.

We can't afford 2 consoles as we both have a heavy load on our overdrafts as it is!

Well, this may not be something you want to read, but I have to call things honestly. All of the systems have some games that would meet both your interests, and I have to say that it's still not clear as to where the majority of the future games that you both would like. Since you mentioned in a prior post about BC, that tells me that you do have a bunch of older systems. So I'm going to say to hold off, and focus on getting at least one of you out from the OD burden. You may also get the benefit of potentially another price drop. The economy is still shaky, and I always advise to people to have some sort of cushion under them. (And the interest rate on most overdraft accounts is hideous.)

However, reading later about the 2600, not a bad choice. It's dirt cheap, holds up well, and some of the games can be found for mere pennies. Racing games give you goodies like Indy 500 and Night Driver, whereas the Swordquest series gives you some RPGs. And don't worry about what Wiistation360 said about the 7800; while the backwards compatibilty is nice, the system does cost more, and 7800 games are much harder to find dirt cheap.
