In March 2007, Sony changed their policy regarding reported units "shipped" from "shipped to warehouse" to "sold to retailer".
All 3 console makers now use this industry standard method.

well, simply is because the ps3 was already adjusted down once, and it is impposible for over 3 million 360's to be on store shelves- at most it is like 800k

thank you! i wish others could be as insightful as you- unfortunatly this site has alot of sony fanboys that are one dimensional in there thinking
I suspect it's because you touch yourself at night. Your mother warned you bad things would happen.

Why are you always quoting yourself? You seem very confuse.
Vgchartz isn't the most reliable source but it does give a good indication to where sales might be. As a consumer sales are the most overrated piece of information there is so I wouldn't take it to heart.

| Halo_Reach said: pretty simple question, waits for the correction to the 360 total and seeing a 1.4 million adjustmant upward for the undertracking in others and U.S.- i just wanna know why it was so under tracked? is it because the internet atmosphere has a lot of 360 haters and pro sony fanboys? |
Hey Reach, do you think getting the real numbers is a walk in a park? There is a degree of estimating going on, and a margin for error. It isn't easy. Despite all the issues, VG Chartz is in the ballpark. Don't take what you get for free on the internet for free as life and death serious. These numbers are useful for loose benchmarking for personal interest. If you take it as more than that, you are going to be disappointed. I doubt seriously there is some sort of 360 hate/pro-Sony fanboy business going on, and if I were ioi, I would find that as an offensive comment.
Then again, considering your username on here is a console exclusive, it should be expected you would see bias that doesn't exist.
probably a lot of 360s are on the shelfs of japanese retailers. or the holidays didnt push as much 360s what retailers expected.
| pezus said: How did you come up with the 36.12 million number? It says 36.77 and the site has yet to be updated with the latest sales data. I think about 2 million on shelves is completely possible. |
It wouldn't be the first time Microsoft channel-stuffed the things. I believe it's widely acknowledged that that happened in 2008? But then again it doesn't look like they've done it since, so...*shrug*
