Seriosly, that would be stupid. And reaching mainstream gamers? Nintendo already has the Mainstream gamers, and to give you a hint, they aren't the hardcores.

..but with Natal releasing in 2010 and stealing some of Nintendo's motion control thunder it only makes sense for the Wii to do the same to Microsoft and not let them dominate the news. The media hyping the Wiis success only added to the Wiis success even more. Nintendo won't want to see Microsoft get that much free air time without some sort of counter.

It has yet to be seen whether Natal will have any impact on the Wii, and it would make sense for Nintendo to take a wait and see approach before they made any drastic moves.
I suspect the next nintendo system to be in 2011. Proberly November,because apprantly nintendo loves releaseing games that month . Though Wii HD or whatever is call will be standalone
No HD Wii.
Nintendo will use the Vitality Sensor to go up against Natal and Sony Motion.
Nintendo will probably put out new colors for Wii though.
I'm guessing that their new console will be ready for Holidays 2011 at least in 1 region. I also expect a new handheld in Japan this year (December).

Not necessarily: the Gameboy Color is often lumped in with its non-color predecessor, in spite of having several exclusive games.

One could just as easily ask why they released the DS when the Gameboy Advance was still selling very briskly. I don't think they're going to cut the Wii short, but it's not for this reason.

It's a sentiment I tend to share. That said, I concede that on certain large televisions, Wii games can look...noticeably bad. It's not a consistent rule, though. :-/

It's way too early to call this. We don't even know what games Natal is going to have. And I've noticed that even amongst the internet evangelists there's been increasing backlash against Natal, possibly for just this reason.
Nah, Nintendo will announce a Wii slim, which is 20% smaller and consumes 30% less power.
