Lol, I just like "twenty-ten" cause its shorter. They seems sorta interchangeable to me.

So pretty much Lazy Camp vs Britishy-grammaticky Camp.

I voted twenty ten.

Didn't most English talking people say "two thousand and nine" when it was 2009? I seldom heard anyone say "twenty o-nine".

So I think most ppl will say "two thousand and ten" about 2010.

Btw, in Sweden we all say "twenty hundred nine" about 2009, and "twenty hundred ten" for 2010.

I'm not sure. I guess two thousand and ten since it sound better.

In my language (direct translation) we say "two ten".
Last year was "two nine".

"And yet, I've realized that maybe living a "decent" life means you won't ever have a "good" life."

I hate it when Americans say "two thousand ten". That doesn't even make any sense. If you say the number 2,010, you'd say 'and', and the year we are in is simply a number.

It's Two thousand and ten. However, I can see a shift to 'twenty ten' starting now, as we move away from the 'year two thousand' effect and get back to how we used to say years (ie 'nineteen ten' for 1910).

I reckon by 2012 we'll all say 'twenty twelve'.

I agree with you for the most part. After a while people probably will be saying 'twenty twelve' etc, but it might take a while and be really awkward for people in America for a while, because we said "two thousand four, two thousand six", etc. That said, I am guilty of saying it the same way. Not because it's more correct than any other way, or because it makes the most sense, but because that's how people say it, and how it's known here. That's how language evolves and it doesn't always make sense. Sorry that it annoys you. :[

Also, hey Opeth! Great band.

Actually, its "dois mil e dez"!
