"Two thousand and ten" OR "Twenty-Ten"? battle of the 2010 names

Didn't most English talking people say "two thousand and nine" when it was 2009? I seldom heard anyone say "twenty o-nine".

So I think most ppl will say "two thousand and ten" about 2010.

Btw, in Sweden we all say "twenty hundred nine" about 2009, and "twenty hundred ten" for 2010.
