I was checking last year's number, it seems it went up too in the first week of Jan 2009,

360 sold 19k in Japan that week, amazing, huh.

New Year is a big holiday in Japan, and they give gift, it's basically christmas in Japan. Usually sales peak for that week then everything will start to go down again.
