Of course there is a degree of big game back lash, but I don't really care. I have been playing FF VII recently, and I must say I prefer the linearity of FF X. Often I am confused where to go, as the game rarely makes it clear {though the game is amazing even though I kind of know the story, especially after playing Crisis Core, which will now need to be replayed as it is the best game on PSP}. The battle system looks great, though I do have 2 questions about the game

1. Can you move your character in combat, the videos aren't clear?
2. Do get control of an airship to free-roam the world, either on the world map or just through a menu, like FF X and XII

I'm still in Chapter 11 myself, so I can't comment on the airship part, though it seems unlikely. You can't move in combat, though.

Okay, but the second part is great news, I don't want it to become too actiony, especially if I am asked to dodge

you have good english dude! At anyrate, i agree, i think FFXIII will be the true epic failure of this gen. i thought it looked great for some time, but after awhile it just ... i dunno... lost its nature that makes a FF game a FF game.

Got my hands on the imported version of this game and frankly this game is so so. the feel of an FF game is just gone, DEAD.
heres my 2 cents worth get it 2nd hand or rent it

Maybe FFXIII isn't as great as you expected.

I really think the FF series is declining but I will play FFXIII despite bad reviews.

Yeah, I will too...Ive been a fan of the series since IV so I can't really help it ! To the rest of you thank you for saying what you believe in a civilized manner :) I Should note  that I didn't express my final opinion  of the game, but rather my fears for it.I REALLY hope it turns out good, and ofcorse it's a matter of personal taste but the reviews worried me,especially a french one that noted that it's not a good FF game.I guess I'll have to wait till March to find out.

It appears people who blame linearity can't forget Final Fantasy VI, during ruined world gameplay. This is the only bit of all final fantasies that makes me remember non-linearity, because you can search or not for every previous member of your party. Final Fantasy was always like a game book.

Yes but how many hours of linear FFVI gameplay had you to put up in order to reach the World of Ruin? 30 at least.

All Final Fantasies, VI included suffer from initial linearity, and only to the latter parts of the games is that the worlds open up and allow for a more expansive exploration. The same happens with FFXIII, everyone who has played the game has acknowledged that once you reach chapter 11, you'll get one of the biggest open world explorations in Final Fantasy games.

You like versus & want it to do well, right?

well let me tell you, if FFXIII is seen as the "epic failure of this gen", Versus XIII & Agito XIII will both be commercial disasters

Pray FFXIII does well & is good, I have seen you gloating at it & saying you want it to fail, frankly I'm shocked you could say such things

if FFXIII goes down, your average consumer will say "eh versus XIII, that FFXIII was a piece of crap I aint buying this"

if FFXIII goes very well your average consumer will say "wow versus XIII, FFXIII was so amazing, definetely want more of final Fantasy"

If FFXIII crumbles, it takes versus & agito with it, if all those commercial disasters take place kiss good bye to a  FF7 PS3 remake

Well, it got a 39 from Famitsu, so I suppose you're basing this on that 7 from Gamekult?

No worries, XIII is probably a good game (or more than just "good") . I never saw a bad Final Fantasy from the main series, even if it disappointed me because I was expecting more.

Well, XIII can be the first bad FF game from the main series (and I can be wrong) but from what I saw so far, I don't think it's gonna happen.

it got a 39 on famitsu & top score on dengeki

in a similar fashion it will get top scores on all major web sites in the west too

small sites like gamekult can continue to do what they want for more hits lol
