why are people complaining KZ2 was fantastic!! people seriously new to stop.

I disagree, and reserve the right to disagree and list my reasons why.

Why not list your reasons so?

I've done it a couple times lately, so I didn't want to seem like I was just bitching, but here ya go, oh and I only played the campaign:
- Lack of color palatte, I do not care how shiny and smooth your greys and blacks are, they still ugly.
- I never really vibed with the controls, and was frustrated (this is where I get the "LOL n00b!" comments)
- I did not like the voice acting.
- The game takes itself way too seriously, there aren't any great moments of humanity, where you get to commisserate with the characters for just a second.
- They need to look at some other games to see how to put together a setpeice, the worst offender is the helicopter thing on the rooftop with the electrical nodes that you have to shoot, it was one of the most anti-fun 15 minutes of gaming ever.
- Fun factor takes a backseat to teh awesome graphicz and super realistic gunplay, and I'll never understand why it's realistic to take a full 2 seconds to turn 90 degrees, it doesn't take me that long in real life. I checked with my cousin's AR-15 (right-wing gun nuts FTW!) . I went to a range in the woods and was able to turn a full 180 and fire accurately much faster than Sev can. Should not be the case because I'm a regular guy, not a super awesome stud man(!).

That's all I can think of right now.

Most of your complaints are leveraged at the SP campaign save for the controls which would applt to all aspects of the game. I'd have loved to hear your thoughts on the MP though I doubt you gave it much of a chance since you didn't like the controls at all.

True, I didn't give the MP much of a chance because I was mad at the controls TBH, a lot of my problem is that I picked it up late after hearing a lot of hype, and it was hyped to impossible levels. I came in with such high expectations that it did not meet, and I think that had something to do with it. Actually, I think that my experience with Uncharted 2 was similar, but I still enjoyed the heck out of that. I dunno, I may give KZ2 a try again when I can get it for around $20. I shouldn't just hate on it because of my experience. Moral of the story, don't yell "Best game EVA!" on the internet because you might wreck someone's experience.

It's certainly true that many yelled "best game ever" without playing the game yet but it's also important to put things into perspective. One should never take internet hype as solid proof of a game's standing especially when it's obvious that the hyper hasn' played it.

As for MP, it depends on what you are into it for. If you just want a "fun" time then you may end up frustrated at the start but if you come in to compete, you'll probably suck up the controls especially if you see value in the MP as a whole. I always compete when playing my games online. If I find a game interesting, I duke it out till I'm considered one of the best. It's my nature. So for someone like myself, even though I had trouble with the controls at first, I simply got used to them since I really liked the game and recognized the fact that the guys I was up against were using the same exact controls. I only get pissed when I beaten by lag switchers lol.

The competitive spirit of kz2 shines most in the clan system in which winners are awarded based on a valor system. Although many people have found ways to "boost" valor i.e ways to get valor they really shouldn't have, the competitive spirist still hasn't died. It feels like playing a sport. Everyone in a clan game really wants victory.

This competitive spirit is also why I appreciate the kz2 leaderboards. It does have a few people who do obscene things once in a while like playing an alt acct to gain a tremendous boost to KDR/score but it's no where compared to what I saw on the MW2 leaderboard which is downright scary. I don't think anyone in the top 100 on any of mw2's leaderboards is legit. Lots of hacked profiles. I mean...people have  99 KDR? WTF. No 2 ranked on kz2 was a source of lots of complaints on the forums for lagswitching. People even had video proof. He was banned. This is the extent to which GG supports th game. I hope IW can follow suit.

I rarely play FPS but I liked this one specially because of the controls... felt more like carrying a gun and not so much as carrying a camera. So no I wasn't disappointed, actually just the other way around. Also found the Killzone universe quite interesting (more than the actual story).

I remember those wonderful times with Golden Eye in the N64. The graphics were a little down but still good enough to blast it.
I just can't believe they cannot understand that we just wanna share good times with our friends.
Online gaming is great, but local multiplayer is just as great, or even more.

Pretty much.

It's just a generic shooter that isn't quite as good as Gears or Resistance but has marginally better graphics and was given more hype than Resistance the latter games combined.

The opposite. I played KZ2 expecting to be very disappointed. For awhile, I really didn't think FPS games really belonged on consoles. Bioshock was my first ever console shooter, and I had some real trouble with it. BF:BC was a little tighter and more PC-like. Killzone 2 was the first shooter I have ever played on a console that felt like it BELONGED on consoles.

I liked it, but not as much as other shooters like Halo, Resistance or Call of Duty.

My disappointment to this game was the cover system, which in reality can get you killed rather than save you.

it' an amazing experience and a fun game but....no split screen or co-op kinda makes it a lonely shooter...u can't have that same feelin u ave with halo or call of duty to when if u r avin a party 4 ppl goin at it in da same room...while others shoutin n shit...it's jus missin that special "fun" moment to share with others u kno....

Basically sums up my complaints about the game. I wasn't trying to bash the game at all. If I had a internet connection in my apt my Ps3 could use I would play the MP. I really liked the controls of the game too. It felt more realistic then most other shooters like Resistance. You can actually feel the weight of the gun. Like I said though this is the first FPS I've ever bought that didn't have split screen and I was surprised thats all.

I thought it was quite rubbish actually 6.5/10. Graphics great, too slow controls, aiming terrible, bog standard campaign blah lah blah!
