Well then with all due respect I don't mean to flame you either but it is pretty ignorant of you to assume that people have the time, the money, and the energy to sit down and play every single game, watch every single movie, and read every single book to properly judge what they do and do not like. All of these resources are limited and thus an educated man would have to use his better judgement to decide what he would and would not enjoy by things that do not consume a lot of time, energy, or money. And if a company fails to showcase the likability of their product through these means that is not on the man's conscience but the company's for failing to do what they are supposed to do as a company. And clearly this company has failed. And as much as you try, you can't make up for that failure.

No, lol, I don't expect them to read every book, or watch every movie.. What I DO expect, is for them to base their decisions off of evidence and deduction, instead of marketing and hype.
I get especially pissed when they base their decisions off what the cover of the box that the movie/game/book/CD comes in. I would rather you base your buying decisions around the RELEASE DATE of the item, then the fucking box.
Honestly, there are SO MANY other things to base your buys off of. How bout developer, or reviews, or recommendations.
People who ignore those things are not "educated men" as you would like to presume. They don't understand the basic underlying truth that their reasoning is based on an incomplete knowledge of the subject, and thus, can't make an educated decision about what they like or dislike until they have actually experienced it.
Experience.
Do you not understand why RPGs value experience? There is no bad experience. Not in the hunt for knowledge.
Now, sure, if you have way too many opinions, and need to limit them, go ahead and cut a few of them out(please don't use the box cover art as an indicator of the content of the game). However, don't pretend that your elimination and the incomplete and unknowledgable deductions made when attempting to elimnate it from your choices is a valid commentary on the game.
The developers of this game did not fail. They made a good game, and that is succeeding.
The game didn't sell well, even though it was good. The marketing team failed. The people who made the box cover art failed(because apparently there is a whole crowd who picks their shit based on that, is what I'm hearing from you). Sega failed. Bayonetta failed. But NOT because the game isn't great. Believe me it is. If I say it, you can believe that shit, because I don't joke about shit like that. However, the gaming industry also failed Bayonetta.
It isn't core enough. It isn't small enough. It is too popular and too mainsteam, and great titles aren't appreciated as much as they should be.
Comics. Comic books.. the comic industry is much more appreciative of a great product. Sales and reviews are based on quality, and not hype. The audience is smarter, and the products on the whole, are better, or they don't last. When good titles sell like shit, or when shit titles sell well, see Carnival Games, then the consumer is to blame.
The consumers JOB is too reward quality, and to punish mediocrity.
THE CONSUMERS JOB IS TO REWARD QUALITY, AND PUNISH MEDIOCRITY.
When we fail to do our job, mediocrity gets promoted, and quality gets reduced.
Do you not believe that?
