The truth is, they really DO have a desire to see the film, they just don't realize it, and never could realize it, until they actually saw the film themselves. They are judging the entire watchability of the film not from critic reception, but from a blurb, trailer, or poster, and a vague generalized ideology of what they believe they would enjoy watching. Truth is, no one knows what they would enjoy until it has been presented to them. They think they do, but they don't. Anything can be spun, and when talking yourself out of watching brokeback, you are spinning your vague knowledge about the film in order to create a justification for the yourself to not watch it. That is what makes them the casual audience, and that is what makes me the informed core movie-goer. It is more commonly known as judging a book by its cover. Once again, I should not be concerned with the cover, or the vast amount of ignorant people who would judge a book by such superficial parameters. I don't care about them. I'm recommending this game only to people who deserve to play it, and the only people who deserve to play it, would probably seriously consider my recommendation, if they haven't already accepted it wholeheartedly. That said, again, I'm not flaming you, or those who would judge books, movies, or games, by such superficial things. I'm sure the people who don't watch Harry Potter because it is anti-christian are people too, and deserve my respect. I just think it's crazy, and I think they totally missed the point. |
Well then with all due respect I don't mean to flame you either but it is pretty ignorant of you to assume that people have the time, the money, and the energy to sit down and play every single game, watch every single movie, and read every single book to properly judge what they do and do not like. All of these resources are limited and thus an educated man would have to use his better judgement to decide what he would and would not enjoy by things that do not consume a lot of time, energy, or money. And if a company fails to showcase the likability of their product through these means that is not on the man's conscience but the company's for failing to do what they are supposed to do as a company. And clearly this company has failed. And as much as you try, you can't make up for that failure.
