I wonder why when an unhyped underdog games gets great reviews, everyone questions it, but when an overhyped, paid off piece of shit sequel with added online gets perfect scores from IGN, everyone can't help but believe it's the best game ever made before they even play it.

I can't believe the skepticism.

How bout this. Play the game because Zenfoldor told you to. If I tell you wrong, blame me, for all to hear. That'll be the fucking day though.

I think you are missing the point of why most people don't care to play this game. It's like when Brokeback Mountain came out. It's an amazing movie, has great acting, it's an awesome western, it's an epic love story, all these great things that I want in a movie. Except for the fact that I had no desire to see a love story about two men and a lot of other people felt the same way. No matter how great you say it is, it doesn't change that fact.

If there is a character that people don't like, then they wont want to see that character succeed. They wont want to go on a journey with this character and they don't want to like this character. For some people either they have no problem liking the character already or they simply don't care about characters that much. For others it's vital and they will simply move on to the next game with the characters that interest them. If the gameplay is that good it will be duplicated in future games with better characters.

I shouldn't be concerned with the hype and marketing required to get the non-informed casual audience into the film, but rather the quality of the film itself. The truth is, they really DO have a desire to see the film, they just don't realize it, and never could realize it, until they actually saw the film themselves. They are judging the entire watchability of the film not from critic reception, but from a blurb, trailer, or poster, and a vague generalized ideology of what they believe they would enjoy watching. Truth is, no one knows what they would enjoy until it has been presented to them. They think they do, but they don't. Anything can be spun, and when talking yourself out of watching brokeback, you are spinning your vague knowledge about the film in order to create a justification for the yourself to not watch it. That is what makes them the casual audience, and that is what makes me the informed core movie-goer. It is more commonly known as judging a book by its cover.

Once again, I should not be concerned with the cover, or the vast amount of ignorant people who would judge a book by such superficial parameters. I don't care about them. I'm recommending this game only to people who deserve to play it, and the only people who deserve to play it, would probably seriously consider my recommendation, if they haven't already accepted it wholeheartedly.

That said, again, I'm not flaming you, or those who would judge books, movies, or games, by such superficial things. I'm sure the people who don't watch Harry Potter because it is anti-christian are people too, and deserve my respect. I just think it's crazy, and I think they totally missed the point.
