So... are they trying to tell me that 1 in 5 households in the US have a PC that's used specifically for gaming, and no consoles at all? Then why do sales of most PC games, well... suck? I call BS on Neilsen's figures from this alone.

The vast majority of time spent gaming is done on PC games, mostly free flash games, but WoW helps boost the numbers too.

With camera attach ments the slims can. DSI still can't play mp3s (only recognises AAC/m4a. DSI can't output movies to TV's either.

That's basically a list of the facts the blogger revealed.

Why would they mention PSP and not DS? Does anyone here think the PSP might have a bigger female to male ratio than DS? Looking at the top games for both, I don't believe that for a second.

Yes, PSP features eat DS features.

...and DSi features eat PSP features.

PSPGO features eat DSi features.

I wasnt aware that PSPgo can take pictures?

I wasn't aware that you could use Skype, watch movies, music player.  Oh my, you could say chatting is what girls love most, no?

PSP 3000 has better features than DSi, not to say the Go doesn't.

PC game sales only suck in B&M stores, theres tons of PC game dev houses that are growing in size and making plenty of money... they just dont advertise on TV and get pushed at your local EBgames. Lots of the games people play on PC are not even sold in stores, but rather even free to play or etc. F2P and Casual DL PC market is probably the two largest game markets in the US, just "core gamers" do not pay as much attention to it. Ive done consulting at a variety of companies, and one thing I have found in common with 90% of "front desk and officeladies" is free and cheap casual PC games (where IT security settings permit anyhow). Stands to reason they play them at home.

And I would say that the PSP to female ratio is likely true. In fact it makes perfect sense, on a PSP girls can discreetly play whatever games they want.

Don't believe it, software sales would be higher in general if that were true, not to mention games catered to girls.

Again, I do not believe this study can be true. As someone who works in this field (analytics, research, etc.) I can think of a number of mistakes that they could have made. Furthermore, I know several people who work at Nielsen, and none of them are particularly bright.

This study just doesn't align with common sense.

Ha, I laughed at that bit.

I'll bet this data is incorrect, they probably mixed it up with the DS. They've made similar mistakes before.

I mean come on, 52%? The majority of PSP's out in the wild are owned by females? I don't believe it.

This. Very much. I'm not buying it for a minute.

You could listen music and chat with the DSi. The DSi internet browser is far better too. Plus it take pictures. The DSi have touch screens the PSP don't. The DSi offers voice recording via its microphone, the PSP don't. The Dsi have TWO screens the PSP have only one. Well, enough said.

Oh please I wasted 5 minutes of my time looking at that crap. That comparison was a joke. Indeed CNET doesnt seem to know as much as I (or any other sane person) do.

How are two screens a feature?

What's next? It has a clamshell case!
