Definitive.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

I can't wait!
But I hope its not like in DiRT where you have to drive some of the boring modes to advance career mode (Indy 500 and Nascar are about as appealing as taking a bubble bath with three bums stricken with leprocy, it really is the most boring kind of motor "sports" there is), that'll be a huge bummer.

What does that mean? What are the modes?

I meant race types. The classic rally, crossover, rallycross and hill climb are really fun (the RAID races are tolerable but too slow to be truly fun and the tracks are way too long for them) and belong in the game but all the other modes are boring or plain horrible to me. I'd like to have the choice to drive only rally in my rally games' career mode.

PS: I also disapprove of the whole image of the game, with some motorcross star blabbering annoying crap all the time. I know Mcrae is dead but there are dozens of famous, true rally profiles that could've stepped in and taken the job of narrating the game and perhaps eased up on the "dude" and "awesome". The map reader is also legally retarded with lines like "YEAH! We won because we were the fastest!" and his constant inability to serve the notes in time to prevent disastrous crashes when you start driving faster cars ("Over crest" he says when you've just taken off and are flying into a pile of rocks where the road could have been).

lol that's funny.

So if u translate these modes to GT5, what could we expect if your fear becomes true? Name a type of mode which u would find boring in GT5? Would it be races with only slower production cars?

How was the campaign/career in Forza 2? I have the game but I can't remember lol.

i'm not a sim racer fan but my god GT5 is sexy. must..resist..temptation....

Luckily, for that point, Indy and Nascar won't suffer since they don't rely on notes but the racing style itself is extremely boring. I cannot fathom how anyone can find it exciting in the least, but to each his own I guess. Bear in mind, I find F1 racing boring as well, rally is just so much more fun to watch and play for me with the narrow, winding roads, varied surfaces, wide slides and overall chaotic image. F1 as about driving on the edge of control while rally is about driving past that and on the constant verge of disaster (yes, F1 crashes are huge but the sport itself is tedious imo, 150 laps of zooming around with the occassional pit stop, yawn). Nascar and Indy are about driving around and around a loop for hours, hoping someone will crash and burn so the bright light and noise will rouse you from sleep and remind you to have another stale beer.

I really hope GT5 won't fall into this pit. Mind you; GT games have always let you select what races to finish anyway so I guess I can simply steer away from the dull ones but that somehow doesn't feel right. I think this is all a step in a process to appeal more to US gamers, like with DiRT, which is good news for them and bad news for me!

but but but...will it have sculpted trees??

because, we ALL know, it will fail if it doesn't! There is nothing more important !!

Are you referencing a certain member on this site?

I was on the fence about getting this game, but the GT academy demo sealed the deal, and of course there is also this.

Now, now, don't be mean to Selnor, we all know he loves Forza 3 and it is in fact a good game, but us GT fans always knew that PD would deliver with GT5, even with all the naysaying ;)

Holy fucking shit.

Night racing on all tracks?!?! Weather on all tracks?!?! Indy cars and tracks?!?!

Omg, this is beyond expectations. I don't need no other game for 2010, GT5 will fill my needs for the remainder of this gen.

And another thing...Definite!

Awesome!

Now, if it wasn't for Forza 2 and 3 we would probably be lucky to get half of this content we are now and no damage.

Competition is GREAT for development.
