Forums - Sony Discussion - Uncharted 2 ? Over hyped ?

A tad bit over hyped I thought.  Definitely an improvement over the first one though...and I did play it 5 times in a row.

Graphics = Awesome

Gameplay = Fun

Story / Voice acting = Awesome

But at the end of the game, I didn't feel the sense of epicness that I felt after beating MGS4 or God of War II. In those games, I felt that I had gone on a long epic journey....while U2 felt...like an action movie....I don't know what I'm saying either but it wasn't "OMGWTFBBQ this game is one of the best games of all time !"

Same here, Demon's Souls is my GOTY
i'd like Uncharted to be more Tomb Raider and less Shooter.

Nope.

Selling really well.

Now, i give you overhyped...

Wow, Just wow......(this will not end well for you)

Uncharted 2 'improved' upon everything its predecessor had and more.....who hyped it up is beyond me ( I mostly heard nothing but praise not hype personally). I believe that 'you' may have unintentionally 'hyped' this game before you bought it and were then initially let down by your own inner fanboy......happens all the time here on VG chartz.

Thats gotta do more with you're preference in genres, imo Uncharted is far better than Tomb Raider....

But the fact is, U2 feels way too scripted...

SPOILERS

My favourite parts were the train section and the tank section...after the tank section it was a bit disappointing...

Simple answer, No, not even MGS4 had me so drawn into it's story like this one, and trust me at the end of MGS4 I was crying, but the beauty of Uncharted 2, and the story combined just was so special to me, never have I played a game like it before, and I'm sure all other games are going to find it hard to keep to the same standards.

it's the future of handheld

Uncharted IS better than Tomb Raider,

i don't mean its Over Hyped, but it overshadowed everything else. the most over hyped game is GTA IV its sucked so much.

what i mean't i want uncharted to be less of a shooter, and more a platformer, plus the whole game was amazing from start to finish not just that part

A bit overhyped yes, but no too much

Gameplay is exactly the same as in Uncharted 1. It's just a bit longer and has multiplayer.

But hardly the game of the gen or something I hear so often from enthusiastic PS3 fans.

U2 wasn't over hyped because it delivered, but people prefer different genres. It's a shame Naughty Dog doesn't make RPGs =(

Disagree.

OT: Nope, I can't say that it is. I think it deserved all the hype it got. Then again, i don't really think many games are "overhyped", but some are overrated, in which case again, i don't think Uncharted 2 is one of them.

Care to explain what was different ?
