No one has yet to say what I've been wanting to say.

FPS - Because ever since FPS has become so damn huge, the gaming industry has honestly been dumbed down. FPS is the new "console" standard, which honestly sucks.

MMORPG - Just way too damn many of these, MMOs were fine at first but seriously, why so many? Quit making shitty ones and let the good ones prevail.

  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

None, not even FPS.

FPS is probably the only genre I don't like, but I don't think there are too many shooters - some of them just get too much gaming media and forum attention imo. Despite all the shooters and action games on the market, there are still many (actually far too many) games from other genres I'm interested in.

Xbox 360 players who deny that Halo made the Xbox and call that crap game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 200000 more influential than Halo.

And Stop and pop shooters.

Fighting games like Street Fighter, Tekken etc...
Keep the REAL fighting games like WWE Smackdown vs Raw, UFC Undisputed and Fight Night.

Why so much hate for Fighting Games? They still are my 2nd most favourite Genre, they not as popular as they used to be ,and they do not really evolve  but they still are a blast.

How is game based on Wrestling a real fighting game? UFC Undisputed is amazing i agree, but it still far away from simulating MMA hopefuly they will make a lot of improvments.

Is there any genres you wish would die off? Why would you wish that?

My list:

1. Jrpg:s

They are so boring and always just the same. Same story, same boring cliches. Can't stand them.

2. Platformers

I don't understand how some people could actually enjoy this genre. All you do is jump and collect some lame coins/stars. Boring.

3. Minigames

These are so shallow and boring. Can't stand them at all.

I don't wish for any to die off because even if I do not care for a specific genre I know there are people who enjoy them. I love JRPGs and Platformers for example.

I would however like some genres to slow down, like shooters. We are getting too many and it is annoying me.

At least it seems like 2010 is the Year of the RPG.

Well, you wish a genre to slow down. That is almost the same as to wish a genre to die off. ;) But that is true, we are getting way too much platformers, minigames and jrpg:s.

JRPGs? Are you mad? We're in a giant drought for JRPGs as all consoles have had a horrific showing in the genre. This will finally improve next year.

And no, wanting a genre to slow down is nothing like killing it off. I wish shooters would slow down as well. We have 2-3 mediocre shooters for every good one. That's far too much.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

Every genre I don't like.

That way, people who don't share my tastes in gaming will either play only what I like (which is objectively better than everything I don't like) or stop gaming all together. As most will refuse to play stuff they don't like (because they're a bunch of stupid peasants), they'll eventually give up gaming and then this industry can finally crash again...

OF COURSE!!

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Badass games. There are few things more calculated and focus group derived than a game that basses itself on being badass.

Thank you. Badassery should be an end, not a means. You can be badass, but you shouldn't be *trying* to do so, as that usually means trying too hard.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I wouldn't want any genre to die really, but if you ask me what genres I personally could do without I would have to say partygames and sportsgames. And fitnessgames. What's the point in those:)

Shouldn't that be a means rather than an end?

I really don't know
