That's fair. And you said you intend to rent it anyway. Personally I think you will end up buying it because you will like it. It seems your a fan of Final Fantasy.

I was reffering to people who will enter any FFXIII thread just to talk the game down. Half of them are pissed that Final Fantasy XIII is no longer exclusive to PS3. The other half never liked a JRPG in their life before and have hated it from before it even released.

Well certainly in early 2010, on PS3 we have:
White Knight Chronicles (early Feb)
Star Ocean: the Last Hope (early Feb)
Final Fantasy XIII (March 9th)
Resonance of Fate (Spring)

Yeah I already had them on my list, it's funny though coz i'm still calling the last one End Of Eternity, that one looks so good. Any more??

Edit: If there is one good thing I want to come out of FF XIII, I am hoping it will be for more JRPG's for the PS3.

This is SO not true. Since this is a FF thread, I'll state that the best ones were back on cartridges. Nonetheless, I'd hazard a guess that nobody on this site will say for the FF series that '6 < 7 < 8 < 9' , which would be what you are saying with that line.

As for the actual subject, the sheer amount of negative reviews with solid reasoning behind them has led to my roommate also cancelling her preorder. Final Fantasy is not the "ultimate JRPG" anymore. Sales in Japan indicate that DQ seems to be more thought of there, over here in the US, people are leaving Squeenix for the smaller JRPG publishers, like Atlus or NIS America. And most who move away, realize how many better JRPGs there really are out there...

Well I certainly expect FF XIII to stop 360 exclusive jRPGs other than Mistwalker maybe, then again, most of those like ToV, ES and now SO have/are come/coming to PS3

I played on Lost Odysee and loved it lol.
