I don't really care for this franchise, I don't even know why it sells so much, but this is one game that has got people praying its failure. To be fair, it could have sold 4 million copies, I would have heard how it still fail short of DQ numbers. There was no win for it, no matter what.

What comes as arrogant is simply frustration, 1.5 million of a game on a third place console with 4 million users in one week, and people still find something bad to complain about, well who's arrogant now?

ot: ff13 sold 1.5 million in 4 days only in Japan right? Those are great sales... unless you were expecting 3 million... so I dont know how you Haterz cansay ffXlll did terrible...

If there is one thing I learn, never underestimate Mario. Maybe about 2 or 3 months ago, Mario Kart  Wii was still in the list of the top 10 selling software WW. And also Wii sales keep rising. NSMB wii can easily hit 20 Millions.

120 mil is certainly possible for wii since the ps2 could do it. However, when a console's sales get that high, there tend to be a lot of repeat purchasers in-between and new purchasers who ignore old titles so I dont think its possible for NSMBW especially to cling to that kind of attach ratio. But like I've stated earlier, if it becomes the new wii sports, all other logic goes out the window

MKwii is usually the game game store emloyees recommend to incoming wii owners. In the closest mall to my house now, I also see exercise stands now dedicated just to wii fit. Mario 5 probably wont have this kind of promotion. I'd reiterate that a HUGE portion of its sales are nostalgia and its sales probably wont be reaching MKwii/wii fit levels. I also dont think its legs would be as huge.

lol, that's prepostorous. It's quite clear Final Fantasy XIII will sell better than 4-6, X-2 - 12. Unless you're talking about Japan only, and then I'll say it'll be close. Very close.

I wouldn't ever use Neogaf users as your source for mass returns and even so, every Final Fantasy has mass returns. Not sure where you're getting worst FF or bad word of mouth whenever it's average user review score is higher than Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy XII, and Dragon Quest IX.

The idea that next week will be below 100k is the most laughable thing I've ever heard. Even if this game is bad, it's doing more than 100k next week. This has nothing to do with arrogance but everything to do with common sense.

NSMB DS is a game that defines legs. Yet for some reason, NSMB Wii will have none? Nostalgia has little to do with it, NSMB Wii is selling so well for precisely the same reason SMB did, to new gamers and old school gamers alike.

I guess we just see things differently. I see NSMBW as a slightly better seller than the likes of SSBB and SMG while you guys see it as another wii fit/MKwii in the making. I never said NSMBW wont have legs...just not the huge legs you are expecting and yes, nostalgia does have a lot to do with it. I dont know how you can even deny this. Well, regarding the sales, only time will tell who is right.

What reason do you have to compare it to SSB:B? Why wouldn't you compare it to it's closest equivalent, NSMB:DS? That was a game that sold on legs, but this will have a SMG kind of sales pattern for some reason?
