As others have said, NSMB will be selling that week too. It only needs >100k to keep ahead of FF, it will do better than that, and it's legs in the following weeks will keep it permanently ahead.

I never could've imagined that hardware boost either. Pretty good. SE is making more money than you think, because FF13 is actually 9240 Yen (Pretty much $100)

Are you saying it will sell less than 100k for the week? ~100k is all it needs to be above 1.5mill lifetime.

Why did it turn into a "NSMB will sell better" conversation?

Because someone said FFXIII has sold more.  

Software is in line with my expectations, but hardware is on the high side.

I expected 150-250k hardware (before I knew the game was releasing in the holidays), and I expected 1.3-1.6 million software.

Nice numbers, since the Japan preview claimed about 225k high for PS3, roughly 20k off, it should prove interesting how undertracked Wii was as well, since the HW is growing with NSMB Wii legs. It's going to be neck and neck for both systems I think.

so can we really call FFXIII a system seller? I was honestly expecting more from Japan with FFXIII.

I know the bundled version would of sold out but that would go to crazy fans, which some would already own PS3s.

So being that it is Christmas and crazy FF fans. how many actual new people got a PS3? 100K-150K?
