ok, it feels like it'll be a game that monitors your heart beat, and perhaps the aim of the game is to relax to the point of going to sleep...guess that'll bring a new definition of a game boring you to sleep XD

Honestly though, how about Nintendo support their previous peripherals with dozens more games, rather then trying to push another cash in gimmick such as this, I mean enough with the peripherals, this generation has been full them.

Eh, Nintendo seems satisfied with one huge game per peripheral. You can call it a gimmick, but this is Nintendo trying to find and exploit untapped markets. It's their fetish this generation.

if your an investor or some Nintendo employee, then it's awesome, but as a gamer it sucks balls so much buying a peripheral based game for only 1 game, it's upto 1st part to supporr the peripheral otherwise 3rd won't even touch it, I mean you can't seriously be happy with this 1 huge game per peripheral crap can you, why not want 5 huge games instead?

Never said I was happy with or supported it. You'll find many Nintendo supporters here are armchair investors/strategists who regularly suggest things that benefit the company rather than the end consumer.

Some of us support Nintendo because they are a customer focussed company, as opposed to revenue focussed. Lack of support for many of their recent peripherals though, is one of Nintendo's failings. It may come back and bite them.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

I was going to agree with you, but then I stopped to think about it a bit more. They ARE doing some stuff with the Balance Board, and several Nintendo games aside from Wii Fit can use the thing. Admittedly, I wish they'd do more. The Wheel is technically used in two other Nintendo games, and will likely show up in all future Nintendo racing games. I don't think we're going to see future Zapper games from Ninendo, but third-parties are picking up the slack there. Motion+ should be used more, but then they're going to make it mandatory for Zelda, which is a pretty big deal. And now there's this thing.

Their use of peripherals could be better, but it's not as bad as a casual glance would argue.

Actually I think the trademark they have is for "Wii____" games, with no space in between the words. However, they could make the case that a space in between the words does not circumvent the patent, and therefore, the company would have to change the name of the game.

Perhaps, but Nintendo could also simply decline to grant a license to a game whose name they feel is using their brand innappropriately. Admittedly, if someone were to release the game on another format they'd need to trademark all "Wii___" derivatives (WiiRelax, only on XBox 360!) .

I think that would violate the "consumer confusion" test, and would thus be invalid.

Nintendo only makes peripherals so that 3rd parties can have another outlet for a type of game they want to create.

If Nintendo makes a congo peripheral again, and throws a Donkey Kong at it, Sega can then make a Let's Tap 2, or a 4-player Samba de Amigo. The Zapper got a whole bunch of light-gun shooters, Balance Board has a lot of games too. Maybe not from Nintendo, but from other companies.

Wii Motion Plus was actually dependent on Red Steel 2 for some strange reason but /Ubisoft delayed that. However, they already sold 10 million+ of them already, so they are being put to some use.......

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

So, would a brainwashing device be included in the pack?

odd that's its not called Wiilax.

I have a feeling this game won't do much for the gamer crowd, but it could be huge.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

there something deep inside of saying , that the VS is much more than it looks ....

A patriot to the end. GO PATS!

Now playing> THE LAST STORY (Wii) Best RPG I EVER PLAYED. *-*

Nintendo could u please just take my money and give me back my 3DS?!

Could it have something to do with those games that detect how relaxed your brain is and the more you do relax the more the ball moves towards your competitors side.

Nintendo's next great disruption, if they pull it off properly. Properly implemented, it'll break down boundaries like nothing we've ever seen before

Properly implemented, of course. We need to see some video.

... Or maybe we're happy because it does benefit us?

I bought Guitar hero II when it came out on the PS2 for ~$80. I haven't used the plastic guitar for anything else, but I was satisfied with it - gave my family and I at least 100 hours of fun.

People shouldn't be buying Wii Fit, or "WiiRelax" in hopes of the peripheral being supported later. They should buy it for the game itself.
