if your an investor or some Nintendo employee, then it's awesome, but as a gamer it sucks balls so much buying a peripheral based game for only 1 game, it's upto 1st part to supporr the peripheral otherwise 3rd won't even touch it, I mean you can't seriously be happy with this 1 huge game per peripheral crap can you, why not want 5 huge games instead?

I was going to agree with you, but then I stopped to think about it a bit more. They ARE doing some stuff with the Balance Board, and several Nintendo games aside from Wii Fit can use the thing. Admittedly, I wish they'd do more. The Wheel is technically used in two other Nintendo games, and will likely show up in all future Nintendo racing games. I don't think we're going to see future Zapper games from Ninendo, but third-parties are picking up the slack there. Motion+ should be used more, but then they're going to make it mandatory for Zelda, which is a pretty big deal. And now there's this thing.

Their use of peripherals could be better, but it's not as bad as a casual glance would argue.

Actually I think the trademark they have is for "Wii____" games, with no space in between the words. However, they could make the case that a space in between the words does not circumvent the patent, and therefore, the company would have to change the name of the game.

Perhaps, but Nintendo could also simply decline to grant a license to a game whose name they feel is using their brand innappropriately. Admittedly, if someone were to release the game on another format they'd need to trademark all "Wii___" derivatives (WiiRelax, only on XBox 360!) .

I think that would violate the "consumer confusion" test, and would thus be invalid.
